Despite of buying a new box, is there a way to repair the /usr directory on the usb stick in order to continue to use the box as before?
This has happened since I planed a record to be started late night on a shared hdd drive on another (dreambox) receiver, but it was not accessible, as of lan issue.
What device would you recommend me in order to further use smart cards and oscam scripts - Vu+ 4k?

You can always try to flash the box anew. You probably landed a recording in flash…

...you probably landed a recording in flash… - this is exactly what I suspect, as the recording path is over lan to the SSD on my other device DM800, whixh connection to the lan was brocken yesterday, as a checked it, so I guess the xtrend tryed to write to the DM800 unsuccessfully so it recorded to the flash.
Isn't it possible to delete the recording and to free the flash?
I am able to start the device if I disconnect the usb with flash expander plugin, but then it is an earlier profile from 2021 and not the actual profile from the Flash expander on the USB.
Once USB is attached, the xtrend freeze on boot logo.

Sure you can… Just FTP to the box. Check the /media/hdd directory….

Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. 
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

Nachdem das Gerät ohne USB STick eingeschaltet ist und läuft, habe ich das USB Stick angeschlossen und Flash Expander gecheckt ß es funktioniert.
Nichtdestotrotz, beim Starten mit angeschlossenem USB Stick friert das Display im OpenPLi Logo.
Angehängt die Datei mit den Meldungen, das Bild mit angeschlossenem USB Stock nach der Start ohne USB und das Bild mit gefrorenem Start mit USB Stick

... und das Screenshot zu dem Verzeichnis "media/hdd" - es zeigt richtig zu dem LAN Gerät mit dem SSD Festplatte zur Aufnahme.

Ich benutze Flash Expander für 2 Jahre jetzt und bislang keine Problemen gehabt.
INstalliert habe ich den PlugIn auf dem xTrend et4000 mit OpenPLi 7.3.
Es scheint mir so, dass ich jetzt 8.3 installiere und dann PlugIn Mover versuche zu installieren, anstatt Flash Expander.

Kann eigentlich nur dazu raten, diese "Versuche" zu lassen.
Klar kann man solche Dinge rein theoretisch praktizieren.
In der Praxis führt es nur zu Problemen.
Es fängt schon dabei an, das die Plugins nicht sauber deinstalliert werden wenn man ein Upgrade macht.
Schon hat man sich ein schönes Problem ins Image gebastelt.
Image klein halten und die Box mit internen Speicher nutzen wie sie ist.
Dann ist auch alles gut.
Weitere Probleme sind Einbindung und Verfügbarkeit des Plugins und dem USB-Stick.
