I'm quite new to this and I'm not sure if this is possible but here goes...
I'm trying to build a pc with a 4 satellite inputs 2x 2 tuner PCI cards
What I would like to know is if it would be possible to use this PC as a server then be able to use clients around the house to watch TV and recorded programs.
Eg I want to be able to watch BBC in kitchen, ITV in the lounge and watch a recorded program in the bedroom then pause the recorded program go downstairs and resume the recording in the living room.
I'm hopeful that this is possible and if you could let me know what software and os Id need that be great
I'm assuming for the server it would be Ubuntu with OpenPli? But what will I need for the clients I'll be watching TV on?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give :D

There are many software solutions to stream channels on thin clients around the house. tvheadend, vdr are two of them.
