If I understand correctly, all that needs to be done is to point the CrossEPG recipe to the OE-aliance version and that will work?

If that's the case, it's an easy fix.

Yes, I suppose so.  At least I installed the OE-Alliance version (downloaded from the GitHub and copied to correct folders) and it worked on OpenPLi (flashed 2 days ago).

Also tension installed this OE-Alliance version on OpenPLi without a problem (but he has added some additions)

But be carefull, some of the OE-Alliance folders on the Github are not the same as the old E2OpenPlugins Github.  So the same recipe might not work.  So pointing to the OE-Alliance Github is a bit over simplicated.

attachicon.gifenigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg_0.8.1+git429+a8438f1-r3_mips32el.ipk

Nice going only .pyo  (compiled) files

But really the only difference I can find is the \usr\lib\python2.6 and \usr\lib\python2.7 folders which contains a file crossepg.py which i cannot trace back to the GitHub.

And I am certain that the python2.6 folder is not needed anymore

pyo files cause it should be tested a little, before public. sure that source is free, ready to push or pass the patch. it's all open here, does not?

thanks for have noticed the 2.6 folder, i'm merging, updating, branching and some problems are normal.

I have a (perhaps) stupid question :

Is Crossepg supported by OpenPli or not ?

Define "supported".

If you mean whether or not we maintain the code, fix bugs, add new functionality, then the answer is no. For us it's a third-party tool.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

OK WanWizard, then why is this thread of 70+ posts going on here - just another (stupid) question of mine perhaps ?

I mean : we have XMLTV EPG Import that is fully supported in OpenPli, don't we ?

This thread is here because as usual we're between a rock and hardplace.

We don't maintain it, so actually we should remove it from the feeds as soon as it is reported broken. But that would cause angry users. And if we don't, we get angry users too. In both cases, it is because you (as a user) wants to use something that isn't maintained by the author anymore. Nothing we can do about, but we get the blame anyway.

And yes, we do maintain the XMLTVEPG plugin.

I wrote most of the XMLTV importer.

Personally, I'd support almost any plugin that builds from source code. Even if I never use it myself.

(To compensate, I absolutely detest plugins that are only 'dumped' as ipk file.)

If you have a working recipe and repo for the plugin, I'll push it if it compiles.

Hi WanWizard, please do not misunderstand me.

I am not complaining you know, because I only use what's (still) supported by the author and by OpenPli/Enigma2.

In this particular case I use Rytec XMLTV.

I was only wandering why a discussion about a plugin (that is not supported by the author anymore) is still going on in an OpenPli forum.

Because when you search in other forum about crossepg and rytec, they redirecte to here and github

ex : http://www.vuplus-su...&threadID=22168 <-- they redirect to here

The only reason I'm forced to still use crossepg is because I want episode numbers in the recorded file names of storage device (and on main titles of record list).

If you know what I'm talking about and know of any other EPG downloader that can do this somehow I'd love to know (I'm not talking about the episode details in the .eit file that shows when highlighting a program in the recorded list, episode number actually in the main show title/file name).

So for now, crossepg is still (in my opinion) the best epg downloader because of this useful feature.
