hello,

the epg download is hanging (again) this morning..... it stays on "importing: Rytec Benelux XMLTV" on 0 events

I've restarted the receiver & started over again : the same

so probably a problem with one of the download servers ?

looking at the sources, I can see the following servers for the benelux : wanwizard, world of satellite, vuplus community and ebook directory

can you verify ? thanks....

DreamBox 7000S+8000HD (eindelijk), openPLi, CCcam, 85 cm schotel, draaibare opstelling en VEEL te weinig slaap.

Update the XMLTV-rytec sources pls.

opkg update
opkg upgrade enigma2
-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec

But that is not the error. (Just you do not have the latest sources)

My box hangs too. Have to find the error in the channels file.

Found it.

Added yesterday VividTV (Erotic)

and made a typo in the channels file:

1:0:1:FE0:451:35:C00000:0:0:0:

I will upload the correct file to the different servers. But pls. wait another hour to update to give the different website a chance to synchronize.

Try restart your box, or at least restart enigma.

PS: Tried to be too quick. Corrected it and uploaded the zipped file. (But forgot to rezip the corrected file)

There have been some changes, yes. So it is wise to update.

But I can say now, that in the coming weeks some more updates will be needed. If you followed some of the other threads you will have a good idea why.

If have not posted a general warning about this, because there is still enough of the old sources file that worked. But within a few weeks that may be not the case anymore. At least with this intermediate version some of the new stuff will already in your box.

I have this issue now. importing 0 events

I uninstalled, restarted, re installed both xmltvimport and xmltvimport-rytec a few times.

Deleted; etc/enigma2/epgimport.conf and chose the sources again.

Nothing is solved. It still doesn't import anything since last night. Common problem?

I also disconnected my router and changed the IP, just thinking maybe I got banned from server or something. Still no luck. Sorry for being an unlucky ass and making you busy with my issues for the last couple of days.

There are a lot of different servers, so if one is not reachable, other will be tried. My importer ran about an hour ago, and imported 173081 events...

So no common problem as far as I can see.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

My import this morning is attached.

No problem.

Pls. try rebooting your box first. You do not list this as one of the things you tried.

Also posting the epgimport.log is helpful in those cases.

i did not mention but, of course i rebooted after every uninstall and reinstall.

so here i'm providing that epgimport.log, screenshot from my box and screenshot of the tmp directory.

it seems it's stuck downloading a single file and that file is not written in tmp.

the box stays in that state forever.

I have deleted the import log (because it mentions filenames)

Downloaded the file from both the servers you are accessing, and pushed them through the offline importer. No problem. See attached log.

So I cannot tell you why it is not importing.

I can also see that you have the latest sources, so that is not the problem.

Check that you have internet connection on your box.

In order to have any chance of importing again, you have to break off this import. The easiest this is done by restarting enigma.

But then? Make at least sure you internet access on your box.

It has internet. i'm using cccam. working perfectly well, from multiple dynamic dns sorurces. so there's no dns resolving problem at all. only plugin that cannot get files from the internet is EPGImport. I tried changing the sources, waiting for 1 hour, nothing changed. It tried to get from all of the sources and with no luck.

I'll let you guys know if I find a solution to this other than installing openpli from scratch.

From the import log it is clear the plug-in does not want to download the French file. And this from at least two servers.

I have checked those two servers and the French file on them. The servers and the files are OK. The files download perfectly and import perfectly.

So, the files are not the problem.

And If you do not have the files (because the plug-in does not download them) no import can happen.

The reason why you do not have import, and the plug-in is stuck is because you cannot download the files. (I have edited this a bit)

[EPGImport] nextImport, source= Rytec France XMLTV
[EPGImport] Downloading: http://xxx.xxxxxxx.co.uk/yyyyyyy/epg_data/rytecxmltvxxxxx.gz to local path: /tmp/epgimport.gz
[EPGImport] download failed: [Failure instance: Traceback (failure with no frames): <class 'twisted.internet.error.TimeoutError'>: User timeout caused connection failure.
]
[EPGImport] Attempting alternative URL

The servers and files are OK.

So why is there no download:

1. Internet connection failed?

2. Network stuck somewhere?

3. Something crashed in your box?

I would not know. Everything I have any influence on has been checked. Files and servers are OK (in this respect)

Maybe you can do the following:

Open your epgimport.log you got earlier
Get the url from the line: [EPGImport] Downloading: ...........
Open now a telnet session
put this command in telnet:
wget the.url.you.got.from.above -O /tmp/epgimport.gz

The xmltv file should be downloading now.

If not, you have an internet problem.

But we can keep running in circles about this.

Try this:

Close your receiver down with the menu. Deep standby

Switch off the power. Make the receiver powerless. Unplug the power if you need to.

Wait 5 minutes.

Power back up.

Now try to import.

Willy

wget command downloads the file.

1. internet ok

2. network ok

i guess this is it:

3. something crashed in the box.

because i updated the packages (by uninstalling and reinstalling) which names are written below. This might have deleted necessary dependencies. Because buyukbangpanel also crashes when trying to copy epg from channels to channels.

ledmanager, cutlisteditor, epgimport, graphmultiepg, imdb, letterbox, openwebif

i don't want to waste more of your time. thank you Willy, you put an extraordinary effort to point my issue, but i'm giving up. i'll just install a fresh copy of openpli and set my settings again, when i have time for it.
