Hi, is there any update when xepgdb will be back online for UK?

The sources were removed because of the sifteam problem and I would like to have it working again for the episode info in the channel list and recorded file names, that only come from crossepg with xepgdb it seems.

thanks

From what I understood the sifteam has stopped providing EPG data, so they are no longer created.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

oh :(

so, is there any other way I can get the episode numbers back into the epg titles?  I'm sure Rytec UK XMLTV used to also format this way with crossepg importer, but maybe because it was using sifteam sources, I'm not sure...

I'm just trying to avoid the problem you highlighted below last year when this happened also.

Willy has explained in that thread why it is this way. So I have resorted to manually rename them once in a while...

I installed Crossepg on my box (for testing) and imported the XMLTV epg with it.

And the episode info is still combined into the title field.

See the thread about Crossepg for the version I installed.

If you really want the XEPGDB files, complain here:

http://forum.sifteam.eu/

They stopped the support for EPG.

Thanks DL, we do appreciate all the support you give us, you help make many people very happy but I know sometimes they only complain on the forums when things break :)

I agree, I thought it used to give episode info in titles with XMLTV but this (for me) was only when I used to use a dreambox, which had a built-in timebomb which now has destroyed the function of the box.

I am using a gigablue quad+ box with openmips 4.2, sadly I cannot get openpli for this box as it's not supported? So maybe this is why I am experiencing different results to you.

However, I am using the same crossepg version you linked in the previous post (0.8.1), and I did "opkg update" and "opkg upgrade enigma2-plugin-systemplugins-crossepg" via telnet, then updating sources worked, but still when download from xmltv for uk it does not give episode details in the title field.

I will try openvix and some other images to see if I can change the results to be like you are having, with UK XMLTV.

May I ask, what box you are using?  This gigablue quad+ is utter shit.  While recording (and only while recording) it hogs almost ALL system resources so even doing things like opening menu's I keep having to push the remote buttons repeatedly until it responds, and randomly (whatever image I use) it likes to just freeze completely, with a spinner loading icon on the screen.. for about 1 minute, then carries on as-if nothing has happened... sometimes once a week, sometimes 3 times in 1 hour.. extremely annoying when trying to watch a recorded show to have it keep freezing -.-

Excuse me for going off topic :P

See my signature for the boxes I am using.

That version I gave higher is still on my box and this combines both the title and subtitle field into the title field.

Checked the Uk channels for you:

Thanks DL! I removed my version and downloaded this version you attached (http://forums.openpl...e-3#entry481210) and it works again with episode numbers and category in titles  :)

But it is strange how it shows as 0.7.0, but I don't mind if it works I'm happy :)

XEPGDB was produced by the SIFteam.

But they stopped doing this.

Pls. import the XMLTV files either with XMLTVimport or by crossepg.

You will need to update the plug-ins to the most recent.  (to get the most recent sources).
