A softcam not pays royalties for different CAS systems... so these kind of software who emulates a conditional access system are quite illegal too.

If you compile the CAM yourself, in the privacy of your own home, you're safe. At least, in European countries you cannot be charged (or sued) for patent infringement as an individual. Legislation in other countries is probably similar on that topic.

Thanks for this info.

Conax is royalty free, so a Conax-only oscam would be perfectly legal ... :)

Uhm .... do you have some docs about it? I don't understand why Vu+ has moved their default CAS from Conax to XCrypt some years ago if Conax CAS is free and they don't need to pay licenses to use.

Royalty-free,value-enhanced

Conax works closely with a wide range of STB manufacturer partners to build in extra Conax-enhanced ecurity at the design stage. We do not charge royalty fees to STB manufacturers for embedding Conax content security. This lowers STB costs by as much as 15%.

You have two choices here:
1. Cancel your subscription.
2. Buy a TV or settop with a CI+ interface. (hint: Open source settop boxes will never get CI+ certification)

But that image is due to this not in line with our and dmm's gpl license!

When I make a mistake here then please/clarify and offer us a patch or the required ipk's...

Your box is a VU+ Solo SE clone. Clones are not supported here.

CI+ support on other images violates GPL, all those images are illegal.

Ask VTI?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

English suxx for being very unclear ...

The OpenATV team does not provide support (service) for CI+ any longer, but the files needed for the boxes to technically support (implement) CI+ on the boxes simply can't be pulled (revoked) from old installations and there is nothing we can do if any 3rd party finds ways to extract them there and puts them on current images too.

So they stop the support but 'silently' they give a hint how to continue support...

Really?

Why you are using a 0001-add-vu-ciplus-support-12102016.patch and own libenigma_dvb_cix_mipsel library if not provide support for CI+ any longer?
