Clones are not supported in any way on this forum so better ask you question somewhere else!

Visit your local satshop any get yourself a genuine DM800-SE if you really want one.... For the money they charge better buy a different brand which will work just as well (if not better) with an official OpenPli 4.0.. Nice single tuner boxes are ET-4000, VU+ Solo, MaxDigital XP1000.. All under 100 pounds, 751Mhz CPU and all OpenPli compatible.. :P

Considering the price he was willing to pay for his "DM800" I think he just want to watch TV for as liitle money as possible. He will give a flying fart if the box has a single, duo or quad core CPU.

it is not truth... single core boxes are problematic for most things.

I agree with you.. But this has a DM800 which would be enough for him (if the box would work still). DM800HD-PVR is a single core CPU STB.. That is my argument...

VU+ Zero is a much better STB than all the above mentioned - fully OpenPLi compatible. And it is quite cheap. I believe that VU+ Solo is not produced any more, so getting one could possibly be a clone.

VU+ Zero is also fine provided the plugin PAU is installed otherwise no recording possible...

Dont talk shit, he did not buy this dm800hd like 2 days ago, this ssl75 is ancient from 2010 most probaly he has this box operating for over 5 years!

It was worth its value and can be upgraded with a new ssl, and in 2010 there was not that much of a choice.

For watching TV this was a good choice and it will work today for the same task's.

I am quite aware of your love for clones Happysat! But it still is his choice to buy a clone (either in 2010 or now), fact remains that OpenPli support is denied for clones (house rule). I am also aware the clone support sites offer OpenPli 4.0. These versions are patched and may give problems with ancient driver/hardware... I bought my DM800HD-PVR in 2010 and it had SSL76 initially... For the DM800HD-PVR the last OpenPli version is 2.1. For OpenPli now SSL84 is required due to the 'Bad memory control".

@goldeneye: you point the guy to a local shop.. but.. which local shops do still have the good old genuine DM800-SE in stock nowadays ?

Since OpenPLi is not developed for the new Dream models, people are 'forced' to buy clones of the old models. In my opinion you cannot blame them...

@Dimmie
I could still buy a genuine DM800-SE from my local retailer *if* I wanted to. But I agree: the DM hay-days are long gone. They *were* top of the bill in 2008. These days I would not buy a DM anymore. There's better value for money.

On the other hand Plu and OpenPli became 'famoys' because of just this brand of receivers. Bit unfair to flame them now just because there is a big competition nowadays. It is not exactly strange that just the DM STB were cloned sa much! Their easy of use made them very popular and everybody wanted one (but refused to pay the price),,

Yes i know these problems the unofficial Pli 3.0 is still the best for the clone 800HD imho, but again he should not seek support overhere and better goto the 'dark side'  :ph34r:

I only did mean you guys sent him to a local shop or whatever to buy a new box, but this problem can be fixed very easy with the right google search enigine keywords..

If your old car from 1977 has bad tires you can buy new tires but also a new car but is it needed..
