I use a crossepg 0.8.1 and although I can not produce the problem as specifically as ian I guess it could be that we all use openTV for UK maybe ?

Nope, I use Rytec for the UK, CrossEPG isn't allowed to come within 10 miles of my boxes...
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Ok ive fixed this by reverting a commit to the enigma2.sh in /usr/bin from
if [ -d /home/root ]; then
export HOME=/home/root
cd
to the way it used to be
if [ -d /home/root ]; then
cd /home/root
No constant spinner after the epg has been updated and much faster restart times too.
this commit is the culpit

I also have this problem. Vu+ Duo2, crossepg, stb hangs when switching to deep standby, restarting interface via telnet makes the box to be able to shut down normally.

Well, that sucks. From what I read I couldn't understand well, is this problem only related to openepg (crossepg), or is the same thing for rytec xmltv?
Still, downloading epg from internet sucks, slow connection may take ages, crossepg does a great job downloading openepg, it's fast, but maybe buggy.

Update
As I posted here http://forums.openpl...ome-bugs/page-7
When stb performs an auto shutdown when in standby, (sleeptimer>deepstandby when in stanby after xx) it works normally even after updating openepg. Still not working when trying to restart/shutdown manually by remote control.
Some relate this problem to the high ram usage by crossepg but with a box like Duo2 I don't think that's the problem... still gonna try set a swapfile to see if it helps.

I guess crossepg succeeds in getting even the duo2 on it's knees.
