download:

wget http://archive.vuplu...20150303.tar.gz

for the solo, install the driver and firmware as described and try to load the module manually after the depmod:

modprobe vuplus_tuner_turbo_driver

run dmesg and post your output from the driver, it will show what extra modules are needed...

For the zero and all new machines you can use the drivers Dimitrij posted.

Hello,

it works with vu+ ZERO and SOLO2!!! :)

 I used the Dimitrij drivers...

I put this additional module via telnet: opkg install kernel-module-dvb-usb-v2

and the second module in manual mode via the decoder: kernel-module-cypress-firmware_4.0.1-1_sh1.ipk

After:

modprobe vuplus_tuner_turbo_driver

dmesg

And reboot...

Many thanks for your help

vu-plus update their meta-vuplus bsp and add vuplus-tuner-turbo: https://github.com/O...ce1418717a31602
Therefore for turbo tuner support openpli also need updated meta-vuplus to d72eb4f289d8b2b473dffdb21ce1418717a31602

Hello @all,

a few weeks ago i bought the "VU* USB Turbo Tuner". Plug&Play didn't work. I don't have a VU+ receiver but a Xtrend 9x00.

What do you think: Is there any chance to get the tuner working like written in this thread? Is it hopeless due to incompatibility?

My current problem with your workaround is this message:

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'vuplus_tuner_turbo_driver': Exec format error

Maybe your first answer would be: There never was a chance, but -> No risk, no fun :D

If there are drivers available from linux you might be able to use it.

Don't expect vu drivers to work on another box than vu.

Interesting. From a quick look inside the binary module from VU+, it seems to be similar to Technotrend TT-TVStick CT2-4400 V2.

http://linuxtv.org/w...VStick_CT2-4400

Supported in Linux since 3.19 kernel, so it might be quite difficult to use it on ET9x00. Can you test this usb dvb stick on a Linux PC with kernel newer than 3.19 and see if it works at all?

Thank you so far :)

I had no time to test it this weekend (no Linux installed at the moment).

The next two days I have no chance to test that (not at home). But I'll give it a try at the end of the week.

exec format error means wrong architecture, that is not going to work anyway. How did you manage, get drivers for the solo4k (= arm)?

Thanks. I didn't know that before -> Now I'm a little bit wiser.

@malakudi

Today I found time to install Ubuntu (it's always a good idea having a linux os available).
I tried to get it run like described in your above link. Finally, no dvb device was found :(

Any idea how I can get that work?

I'm a little bit confused now, while the tuner is advertised to can be used with Xtrend. Seems to be not that easy. I found no solution till now.
