I`m running OBH in flash, OPLi as a multiboot.

Question: while being booted to OPLi is there a way to mount flash (OBH) in order to explore the resources ?

 

No, but i could change the sources to mount the flash into a folder under Pli.

But i don't think is a good idea because if something wrong or files are deleted the flash will be corrupted.

I do understand that the risk is high. But what I was asking for is how to do it manually instead of implementing it in the application.

No sorry you can't do manually.

The only part of flash mounted in the multiboot image is the plugin.

i tested both fixed files .... it works .. really a great job ,, thak you very much
i dont know meo if you could show more than 4 multiboot images in bootmenu
it shows here (flash) + 4 multiboot images

but you have actually solved the double boot problem , and that was the main issue

Added on plugin side:

- label to display what image is running

- option to disable bootmenu

i just found that topic - are your changes PLi and VU+ specific? Will those changes break usage on other boxes?

If not - i would appreciate if your changes could be pushed to oe-a git of openmultiboot too.

I haven't checked in detail yet - most stuff should be pushable, only some parts might need to be boxspecific (adding a box or brand patch to bb recipe).

I know - and i could. If you read carefully the notes or the commits of openmultiboot i was involved in development of it - we had not all VU+ boxes available to check everything.

Pull Requests can be created by anybody having a github account. The merge could be done by me or any other oe-a guy.

 

I just asked because you might have a better insight about your changes and you could probably provide a quicker correct pull-request then me - i would need to first thoroughly read your code changes in your git.

Yes but i am really busy now with the develop of OBH image and i am not in the position to evalutate what changes are good for you.

BTW i talked with the author of Open Multiboot before to start to mod it. Skaman is a friend, we developed togheter OpenWebIf.

Unfotunately  he is really busy now to partecipate to this discussion.

You can check everything and ask anything here. I am available for every explanation.

 

Basically the main problem i solved were:

1) problem: OMB was not working with Vu+ duo2 box

2) problem: OMB was not compatible with Vu+ OpenGles drivers so the bootmenu was not working with all gles images for the: solo2, duo2 and soloSE.

3) problem OMB was not working well with OpenPli

4) problem: OMB was designed only for OE-A images and was not fully compatible with other images like Vu+ derivates.

 

Finally i added also something to plugin side: A label that dispaly what image is running and an option to disable bootmenu to have the maximum boot speed.

 

There are also other minor changes that i dont recomend to use in OE-A.

if answer is yes , which image should be in flash , I'am little bit confused with all staff written here and wonna be shore to not make any mistake

I suppose that it should work with one OE-A image in flash and the original plugin version.

Or maybe Pli in flash and the Dimitrij version of the plugin, But i don't know if it works with DM800

To be more clear not all modifications are good for OE-A git. So it is better that you take a glance at the code and decide what you want to implement and what not.

But I think OE-A members must test it as we don't use OE-A
