There is no update possible, the OE environment of OpenPLi 4 is out of date. The upcoming 5 will contain 2.7.12.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), Mutant HD66SE (S2+T2), (Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, for the forseeable future I will not be very active. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

how can i update to python 2.7.9+ on open pli 4?i just made software update and i'm still on 2.7.3

 

At now you can only change the image. 

For example E2 distributions Hyperion (PKTeam), Egami, OpenATV have new version of python.

 

Building your own image OpenPLI 5 is another solution. 

 

python is integrated with E2, so it is not so easy to make custom update of only this component. 

Backporting HTTPS fixed from python 2.7.9+ to 2.7.3 is possible but thre is need to have time to do this.

It doesn't make sense because newer images have new python.

you can do backup setting, and activate on new image, all setting will be restored

possible, problem some plugins need dependent files, which may not work with new image

PBNIGMA v. 6.0 has Python v. 2.7.12 already.

 

It is not good practice to try to simply restore settings, when images go through many changes...
