Is there a log file anywhere that logs recording problems?

Yes, it's from Thor 0.8W, but this recording was just a example.

This error can occur on any channel.

Go to the timer entry and press "menu". There you can find a log of the recording.

Where exactly do you mean that I should click on the menu button, and find a log?

I tried clicking on the menu button when I stand on the recording, but there is no "log" there.

Today I have installed an internal HDD, instead of recording to my NAS, to exclude that the fault lies in my network or NAS.

I also flashed both my boxes again today, with the today's update. I will now test recording in a few days, and return with the results...

Now I have some new information. I have done the following:

1. Tested with another router

2. Tested all network cables with debugging instruments all over the house

3. Tested installing an internal HDD, instead of using a NAS

4. Flashed both my two VU+ Duo2 with the latest OpenPLi

Playback of recordings still cause the image freezes periodically. Usually about 10-20 seconds, and
during that time spinning circle up in the corner. The fault occurs regardless of which of my boxes I
playback from. I think the fault is connect to playback, not recording. Because if I experience a image
freeze, and then rewinds 15 seconds, then the image doesn't freeze at the same position.

Still no one knows what this might be due to, or what I can test more?
Changing the LNB? Adjust my dish?

A cardsharing server that intermittedly doesn't give out valid codewords or too late?

I pay my supplier (Canal Digital) and has a legal card in one of my boxes, and shares only to my second

box in my local network. I also have tried to have the card and the internal hard drive in the same box, to

exclude that it has to do with CCCAM. As I have said before, I don't have these problems when I watch on

TV or MKV movies, only playback of recorded material. I don't know how the box works technically, but it

behaves like it was problems with memory or some cache, during playback of recorded materials, because

playback needs to "work up" a little now and then.

I have never experienced these problems before februari-mars 2015.

That's why I started the thread by asking for an older version of OpenPLi, so I can investigate if it was due

to a change in the software during the year.

Flashed a fresh image lately? I'd recommend that, especially for VU+ receivers.

Yes, as I wrote earlier, I tested a fresh image several times. Last time I flashed my boxes was a week ago.

When I get some time I'll try another image (not OpenPLi). Ideally, I wanted to try with an older version of OpenPLi, but

it is quite impossible to obtain according to you. If my problems disappears with another image, so I know the bug is in OpenPLi.

I will return when I have tested with another image...  :-)

I'll have some new information.

I don't know if this information is linked to my earlier described fault.

Now and then you'll see a pop with the following text:

Write error during recording. Disc Full?

And every time I see this message, I find recordings that are "cut off".

The problem is that I have a NAS with 6TB of storage capacity, and about 2TB of free space.

In other words, my disc is not nearly full. I have mountat my NAS with CIFS. Is it wrong?

What can this error depend on?

I does mean, indeed, a "disk" error, in this case the NAS. It's mostly a network error or a misconfiguration.

I think it is too new kernel bug. What is your kernel? 3.13.5 or even higher?
My Vu+Zero can not handle, for example, USB DVB-T sticks. I am convinced that this error is caused by too new kernel.

Kernel? What is that? How do I know which version I have?

I am not an advanced user.  :-)

I found it. I have kernel version V3.13.5 right now.

This maybe sounds strange, but now I don't experience any problem the last tree days.
The last time I flashed both my boxes was for about 10 days ago, but my problems continue.
But for tree days ago I tested to make an software update directly in OpenPLi. Some things
was updated, and after that point all playbacks of recording run smoothly, so far. Someshing
in this update must have resolve the bugs I experience the last month.

Somewome know what the bug was?

All my problems seem to be gone now after the update I did six days ago.

I feel that my case is closed.

Thanks for all help.

Go to the timer entry and press "menu". There you can find a log of the recording.

On my Vu you should Press "info" instead of "menu"
