In the past I have tested with Maxdigital XP1000 and today with Mutant HD1100. Both are excellent bcm7358 devices.

But with both the mediaplayback(mkv, mp4, avi, mp3) stops after several minutes or after several zaps through channels. The only frustrating solution is to full reboot.

The new drivers, new gstreamer and kernel 4.0.1 and kernel 3.12.1 does not solve this. Maybe the problem starts with the newest dvb drivers, I don't know.

The problem exists also in Openatv 4.2, 5.0.

The best solution for me is to use a Openpli4.0 image that I have found from october 2013 for XP1000, this one has the 3.9.1 kernel and works flawless for weeks.

But for the Mutant HD1100 I havent found a proper image with older kernel/drivers.

ims identified this too:

From myself and other users:

Who are all aware of this and or maybe is something planned to fix this issue?

Will the XP1000 also get the new kernel 4.0.1 update and the new dvb-modules from 2015-06 such as in openatv?

Playback works fine and nobody else report similar problem.

How do you playback media, with hdd, usb or through ethernet with samba, nfs....

I have tried with nfs, samba share and also with usb, with all of them I get the same result.

Another box that uses the same bcm7358 chip has a new driver and bootloader update:

sh1-bootloader-02.10.2015

sh1-drivers-4.0.1-20151002.zip

Changelog:
Optimize performance
Optimize media playback
Improve unicable
Improve HDMI compatibility

This is indeed for another box(zgemma S/2S/H1/H2).

Can we expect this update for the Maxdigital too?

I have a XP1000 myself too and indeed since new kernel the playback of media by gstreamer in generic will fail after some time.

For a workaround as e.g. my shoutcast stream doesnt play I'll reboot the box and it works again for some time.

Its annoying but I can live with that fact. Since the XP1000 is a bloody cheap box I dont expect any updating/support from the manufacturer.

It seems the manufacturer doesn't react to our request for contact.

Actually their sources (kernel, drivers are down).

So if you wan't to build image your self you cannot, and nobody created a mirror yet.

I saw the XP1000 has been upgraded to kernel 4.0.1 in Openpli.

But the drivers are still from 18-06-2015. I hope we can get the newest one :(

Finally, the drivers for XP1000 has been updated. These are from 2016-02-15.

And most importantly the media playyback has been fixed!

Thanks for the support. :D
