I am runnning the latest openPLI on a VU+ Duo2 and want to stream an encrypted channel.

The problem is, the stream I get has the "even"/"odd"  key TS stream bits already removed, like it is already decrypted. But this is not the case, the STB cannot decrypt this channel.

I already disabled/enabled the "Descramble http streams" setting and restarted the whole system, but no change, the stream never has the "even"/"odd" bits set.

Is this a known limitaiton of the Duo2, or am I doing something wrong?

Are you running an actual or up to date image?
This problem should be solved in the latest drivers.

On the edge of the abyss, a step forward is not always progress....

Hardware: 2x Daily used Vu+ Ultimo 4K - Vu+ Duo 4K SE and a lot more.... - VisioSat BiBigsat - Jultec Unicable Multiswitch 4 positions: 19.2/23.5/28.2 East - Diseqc motorized flatdish antenna

Software : HomeBuild OpenPLi Develop and Scarthgap builds, local cards driven by OsCam

I did some more testing on a channel that can be decrypted by the duo2:

"Descramble http streams" on: stream gets decrypted OK.

"Descramble http streams" off: odd/even key bits are missing, but the stream is not decrypted correctly.

So the setting works, but the tuner always seems to decrypt even when it should not.

I have found some drivers which could maybe solve this problem:

update proxy drivers
20150623
- Fix tuning problem(AVL6211, duo2, solose)
- Improve vtuner(satip support)
- Fix scrambling bit in recording
- Improve transcoding

vuplus-dvb-modules-vuduo2-3.13.5-20150623.tar.gz (http://archive.vuplu...20150623.tar.gz)

the drivers which are used by openPLI at the moment

root@vuduo2:/lib/modules/3.13.5/extra# ls -la
drwxr-xr-x    2 root     root           448 Jul  3 04:36 .
drwxr-xr-x    4 root     root          1104 Jul  3 22:13 ..
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root          5960 May 17 09:32 brcmfb.ko
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root      10132580 May 17 09:32 dvb-bcm7424.ko
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root          2577 May 17 09:32 fpga_directc.ko
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root          4608 May 17 09:32 procmk.ko

But the question is: Will openPLI work with these drivers?

I did a binary compare of the files, and noticed that only dvb-bcm7424.ko is different than the current drivers the latest openPLI is using.

After replacing it, everything works now! :)

So this driver should be updated in the openPLI image I think.

Thanks for your help :)

As I recall right this driver has been implemented with the last update of the BSP layer, or at least should have been.

The last driver date is 23/6 and this has not yet been implemented in PLi (and neither has the new HbbTV version if I'm not mistaken).

So why the "OpenPLi-4.0-beta-vuduo2-20150703_usb.zip" does not include this driver?
