Hi

What is the best way to stream content from home with I am at the office, on vacation etc?

Is there a tutorial for setup, plugins I need (.ipk files) etc?

Please respond :-)

Setup a VPN to your internet router (or through your router to your NAS if you have one), then through the tunnel browse to the web interface of the box and start streaming.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I don't know, I don't own any Apple equipment.

But I know that a friend of mine has created an PPTP tunnel from his iPad to his home router, and he access the webinterface from his Duo2 through the tunnel. But I assume that once the tunnel is up and running, the streaming apps that are available will work through the tunnel too. But as said, no experience with those myself.

Any tutorial to do this right, because I am a little frustrated...

Trying streaming (blue icon) or transcoding (white icon) in the Webif? If transcoding, have you installed the transcoding plugin?

What else would you have liked to select/set?

Most of the stuff in the original VU plugin didn't work, was very unstable, or made the drivers crash, so these options were removed. In the webif settings you can also configure the transcoding, you don't need the plugin for it (but it has to be installed, otherwise you won't get the webif transcoding settings screen).

Ok, I have set up NAT 8001 on my router and also set port 8001 on the transcoding web settings.

For the http port I`ve selected 1985. I also downloaded the latest VLC media player. Bitrate 2Mbps and 720p

Doesn't work with VLC, since the webif will generate an m3u file that contains the IP address of your box, so it doesn't support NAT setups. It might work with an app, if you specify your public IP or hostname, and the correct port.

However, the last thing you want is to expose your box to the internet, you'll be part of an illegal IPTV network in no time. I didn't give you the advise to use a VPN for nothing...
