One time the hardware sold with another name is exactly the same, another time it's not. We don't have such hardware, so we cannot give any information about that. I think that's a typical "community" task, to find out and share such information.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

Step #1 for being properly informed is to consult the comparison chart: http://openpli.org/wiki/comparison

Hehe, but that doesn't mention the Solo SE being crippled....

And for the Zero there is no mentioning of a real problem either......

I wouldn't use the word "crippled", it's simply a "Zapper", not a PVR. I will add this information to the comparison chart.

It's hardly possible to find this out 'in the field', as there won't be many people able/willing to buy in different parts of the world and then compare the hardware. Sometimes we're lucky, but normally we depend on the information from the manufacturer.

Difficult subject.

Whatever you choose, but the word 'zapper' doesn't mean anything (the original Solo was also advertised as 'Zapper' but was perfectly able to record).

But a good moment to make it perfectly clear in the matrix.

Annyway: in my opinion, shared by 99.8% of the E2-STB's on the market, a non-DVR-E2-box is indeed crippled.

I have added a description about what a PVR is and what a Zapper is, in this document, so there is really no excuse now!

So how did you solve the Solo as zapper then? VU still announces it as zapper on their website.
