Not sure if this is OpenVIX specific but I have the same problem at the moment... Also tried CrossEPG and tried to update rytec providers but then I got a message telling me: "Cannot retrieve rytec sources", so not sure if there is a server/service that is down somewhere...

I am having the same problem right now, even though enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec is installed at the currently newest version. Log follows:
13:16:35.514 Plugins/Extensions/XMLTVImport/log.py:25 write [XMLTVImport] using source /etc/xmltvimport/satmate.sources.xml 13:16:35.546 Plugins/Extensions/XMLTVImport/XMLTVConfig.py:129 enumSources downloading source list from EPGalfasite 13:16:36.196 Plugins/Extensions/XMLTVImport/log.py:25 write [XMLTVImport] failed to list /etc/xmltvimport Error: Not a gzipped file 13:16:36.224 skin.py:842 readSkin [SKIN] Parsing embedded skin <embedded-in-'XMLTVImportSources'> 13:16:36.266 skin.py:1029 readSkin [SKIN] processing screen <embedded-in-'XMLTVImportSources'>: 13:16:36.669 skin.py:1029 readSkin [SKIN] processing screen SetupSummary: 13:16:36.748 Screens/Screen.py:150 show [SCREENNAME] SetupSummary 13:16:36.774 Screens/Screen.py:150 show [SCREENNAME] XMLTVImportSources
Reading through the code within XMLTVConfig.py it seems the error might be caused by the following URL no longer being accessible:
http://home.scarlet.be/epgalfasite/crossepgsources.gz
@Willy: The URL is hard-coded in the OE-Alliance code for XMLTVImport. I'm not sure who can be contacted about changes. If you have any questions, just let me know (either here or via direct message).
Cheers,
vinyl

This was my personal webspace.
Since I changed from provider this website ceased to exist. Although Scarlet should have kept this website intact for another 6 months (now 5 months)
However, the moment I knew about this I notified the devs about the changes. I created a new place for this file and gave the devs the new place.
If they do not react to it, is too bad.
Complain at OpenVIX or OpenATV.
At OpenPLi, Milo has adapted the situation.

OK, I have now looked at the XMLTVImport code for OE-Alliance a little closer. The last commit on the file XMLTVConfig.py was from March 11, 2015 by andyblac. Since this commit, the 'sourcelist' which is contained in the plugin 'enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec' is ignored. It doesn't matter if you have this plugin or not, the file is not used at all. Having installed ''enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport' (without the -rytec ending) is enough.
Instead the sourcelist is pulled from a URL (see my last post for the specific URL). Reverting commit 'a458d37554cd808d1ee02d31c3c92249eb15858a' from the sources fixes this issue and the sourcelist is used again. Until this is done, the ''enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec' is useless and only the URL is being used.

Willy, I found another problem with the new URL for crossepgsources.gz.
The problem is that if you access the new URL you provided (via PM) using cURL oder Wget, then you get a HTML reply that informs you that your browser does not support frames. The same thing happens when the XMLTVImport plugin tries to access this URL. It never sees the crossepgsources.gz. This is also why people still cannot find new sources, even though their plugins are up-to-date. It just won't work using this link.
Do you know who to contact at oe-alliance?
The easiest solution for the XMLTVImport plugin would be to revert the commit from March, thus the plugin will be using the sources supplied in 'enigma2-plugin-extensions-xmltvimport-rytec' again.
Unfortunately I don't know how to contact andyblac.
Cheers

Bummer. The solution I came up does not work. (a dyndns redirect - to prevent this to be ever changed again)
I tried to hide to actual URL.
I disengaged this feature now.
enable cloaking (use browser frames preventing visitors from seeing the redirect)
Could you try again pls.

What should I do in order to get the sources back?
download new XMLTVConfig.py that has the new source url & send it to ur plugin & restart e2 , u can download it from oe-alliance github , in case u use crossepg plugin u will find the updated source file there too & both plugins r working ok with new source rytec url

Or update the affected plug-in from the feed of your image.
Should work.
(Unless you are using a very obsolete, or hacked image).

No, I ONLY provide a DreamOS Version as *.deb file, which ist ONLY usable on Dreambox 7080hd and dreambox 820hd running DreamOS
It ONLY has an EPGConfig.py which is getting the sources from the xml
And I do NOT provide ANY source xml files anymore - I'm NOT interested to discuss which servers are willing to serve which boxes.
