Hi!

I have 4 x 16/1 EMP Centauri switches and they use those options from the title in DiSEqC 1.1 mode (the mode is one of four supported: 1.0; 1.1, 1.0 + 1.1 and 1.2).

Any clarification, please? It seems those options are gone from the settings menu and with them this HW is not supported properly...

How do I set it up for 14 or more LNBs without those options?

Thanx!

P.S. Once, long ago, we used to change only the following options from the list in Tuner Configuration > Advanced > DiSEqC 1.1:

LNB [1 -> 16]
DiSEqC mode [1.1]
Fast DiSEqC [yes]
Command order [uncommitted, committed, toneburst]
Uncommitted DiSEqC command [Input 1 -> 16]

Could you break it down for me, please?

Which one is which? So many combinations, when you have many LNBs....

Thanx!

Whichever combination I tried - it didn't work and I tried many...

Pure 1.1 and mixed 1.0+1.1 in EMP switch.

All manner of combinations in E2.

Nada! Achhh.... :(

Gee, that's very helpful...

I tried even this option in EMP 16/1 scheme: DiSEqC 1.0 + 1.1

This is how I presumed what's what in EMP scheme, i.e. what it refers to in E2 - here are only the E2 settings that apparently need changing:

LNB > 1-16
DiSEqC mode > 1.1
Toneburst > A
(= is this "pos A" in EMP scheme; it goes from A to B all the time, from one combination to the next, i.e. => A, B, A, B, A, B...?)
DiSEqC 1.0 command > Port A (= "opt A" in EMP scheme; A, then A and then B, and B again => A, A, B, B for the first 4 options and that is repeated for each Input = 4 Inputs for 16 LNBs)
DiSEqC 1.1 command > Input 1 (= "uncom 1" in EMP scheme and it stays like that for the above 4 combinations and then it's repeated for Input 2 and so on to maximum of 4 for 16 LNBs?)
Command order > "DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1 toneburst" (and I tried it differently, too - but this is the order of these commands in E2 settings, so logically... IF THERE IS ANY LOGIC to their order in E2 Settings list??!!??)
Some say that Sequence repeat should also be edited to > Yes. Correct?

Ouch! It used to be so simple and it ran flawlessly! And now...

Who came up with the clever idea to remove it, FFS?!?

See attached PDF for my setup with OpenPLi 4.0 on DM7020HDs and Vu+ Zeros connected to 5 Octo LNBs (5 Sats) with EMP 8 Input DiSEqc switches. Only use 5 of the 8 Inputs (1 to 5) the others (6, 7, 8) have terminators on them.

I have an EMP Switch for each STB. If a Dual Tuner STB, then 1 EMP Switch for each Tuner.

I do not know if yours is similar but maybe it can help you out.

Thanx a bunch, gerard, very cool!!!

I have 16/1 but I presume it continues in the same way...

Geen - Yes?

Cheers, fcs!!!

I will try it all again, although, I think I already tried gerard's scheme. I will change the 16/1 switch, too!

Oh sorry. This is the English section.

GEEN means NO ( or NON)!

Nee means NO

Ja means Yes

Geavanceerd means Advanced

Yes, thanx, after I wrote the message and compared I figured out it's NO... :D

I will try to eliminate the HW problem, so I will put another 16/1 switch together and see with the same settings that I use to have (like yours), that didn't want to work now, for some reason...

Btw, I saw some reports that sometimes receiver/switch make a wrong kind of connection, as it were, so they must be disconnected and everything re-attached, one by one - and then it starts working again...

We'll see... so much time spent and it still isn't working...

Thanx again, for your good will, guys!!! :)

What Littlesat tries to explain:

DiSEqC 1.0 = committed

DiSEqC 1.1 = uncommitted

DiSEqC 1.2 = rotor

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DiSEqC

EMP Centauri has some dip switches that define how it responds to diseqc commands. I always use it in pure uncommitted mode, then the 16 ports are addressed only with uncommitted commands (aka diseqc 1.1)

Well, once again, thank you kindly to those who made the effort! It helped!

Noted that your settings were more or less the same as mine, so I took somebody's advice (nick escapes me now, sorry) who had a similar problem and decided that the STB may have messed up the switch or the communication with it.

He didn't change any of the settings and went to unplug and disconnect everything from everything, rewire it and try again. And it worked.

I tried one more thing: I wired another EMP 16/1 and tried. It didn't work, I suspect for the same reason. Then, I did as he did and it worked. Don't ask me why exactly but it solved the mystery. I didn't touch the settings.

Go figure...

Later, when I get a moment, I will post my settings, as well, if anyone should need it...

Cheerio! :)

P.S. Finally, a shower, after 3 days of gargantuan struggle... :D :D :D Now, I need to sleep a little, too... :D

P.P.S. Eric, that's silly, really... just plain silly... :D

Thanks for the info. Please mind that Tone has to be set to Band. That's what did it for me. EMP Centauri 16/1 BTW.
