When using OpenPLI on Xsarius Fusion HD, the Xsarius hangs on the bootscreen after a reboot of the receiver.

How to reproduce:

- flash the latest OpenPLI4 for Xsarius Fusion HD (usb stick)

- receiver starts fine

- now make a restart from within the menu

- receiver hangs on bootscreen / keeps rebooting (loop)

Tested with several different Xsarius Fusion HD and also the shop that sells them has confirmed this problem when using OpenPLI with this receiver.

As I've been informed, the cause of this issue is a mistake in the BSP layer from Xsarius. We can only hope that this is solved ASAP by the Xsarius developers.

That's the remote location where the drivers are located. With the build of an image the drivers are downloaded from that specific Github location.
In case the drivers have been changed and the BSP layer is being updated, the image is being build with the latest drivers.

The drivers are the responsibility of the manufacturer.

Okay, strange that OpenATV works without any problems but OpenPLI not.

Anyway thanks for explaining,

I figured out that simpy replacing the drivers by the correct ones before restarting the image solves this boot problem.

Thanks to Frenske for explaining what the problem is.

For those who want the solution::

1. flash OpenPLI image

2. replace the attached file \usr\lib\modules\4.2.1\extra

3. problem solved

Mistyping, I mean: \lib\modules\4.2.1\extra

The strange thing is that when you make a backup with backupsuite, this won't work anymore. When you follow the steps exactly as written in 1 2 3 with a fresh image, it works..

Hello Dimmie,

I tested the Fusion witrh the OpenPLi software from yesterday, 09-11. Restart via menu is working OK, no reboot loop. Do you have als problems with this version?

If there is a "reboot loop", that most probably means that enigma2 can't start properly. Often that is caused by a malfunctioning skin (3rd party) or other bad 3rd party plugins. It's not probably a driver issue. You can check by logging in, moving /usr/bin/enigma2 to something else (q&d trick), so it doesn't get started automatically and then start it manually and observe the messages.

killing enigma2.sh is probably a better idea than moving the binary.... ;)

I have to say, i have this same problem with many versions of Openpli 4.0.
Perhaps it has to do with flashing back a backup made with Backupsuite.
The only 3th party plugins installed are:
- Autotimer
- Cablescan
- Open Uitzending gemist.

As these have no issue's on other boxes i dont think these are causing these problem.

TO recreate the problem:
Flash back a backup made with Backupsuite, then turn the fusion HD completely off via de Menu, i then get a green screen crash, after that a i see the turning off screen again (without touching anyhting), but it wont turn off. Then take power off, and turn on again and we are stuck in the loop.

I've also had the reboot issue when ugrading a Fusion HD flashed with a backup made with backup-suite.

The Fusion isn't incorporated in the BackupSuite yet so it could be that wrong parameters are used.
@XsariusSupport
Could you provide me with the appropriate parameters for the Fusion in the BackupSuite or point me to the information on GitHub?
See the file lookuptable.txt for the required parameters.

A green screen produces a error log, could you upload it to see what is the problem?

Doesn't work, init will restart it, that's the problem.

That is irritating. The GUI restart loop used to be inside the script, so you could kill it. Have to admit I haven't looked at it in a long time...

I'm a bit puzzled, the building process uses mkfs.jffs2 instead of mkfs.ubifs?

That's if you manage to login in to the box before it reboots ;)

I'm not a expert with Enigma2 boxes, but where can i find the error-log? As after this green image it wont even boot anymore, so i cannot get inside unless i reflash. I can make a picture of the green screen if that helps.
