Hi!

I^m trying to get my Asus u7 (usb soundcard) to work under openpli.

I have build a new core with the correct correct linux kernel modules (eg. snd-usb-audio) with it. I have managed to make the soundcard work under ALSA, but when i see TV or use Mediaplayer the sound goes out from the hdmi instead :\

How do i make Gstreamer to choose the audio to alsa?

I actually only need this for mediaplayer to play Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Because i don´t have a hdmi A/V-reciver.

gstreamer is not involved in TV or movie playback.

Then how does the sound go through hdmi when alsa has no soundcard? And how do i change so i use alsa instead?

I can´t really understand how the sound works at all on these systems :)

Non-DVB media (mp4, mkv etc.) is player through gstreamer. DVB media (mpeg transport streams -> recordings) are played in hardware. You can never re-route that to alsa.

So then it´s possible to re-route the sound from gstreamer when i play .mvk from mediaplayer plugin ... (i think that it uses gstreamer)

Is it the gstreamer alsa-sink i have to use to make the magic happen? :)

Yes, that should be possible, to make gstreamer use the alsa sink instead. Exactly how you're going to have to find out yourself ;) But note that A/V sync will probably be (far) off.
