And why not gstreamer 2.0.0?

Perhaps first of all it is necessary wait when gstreamer 1.7.0 coming out?

If someone clone git who is after version 1.6.1, it does not mean that it is version 1.7.0 :).

It is already on some images and they call it 1. 7.

It does not matter whether it is 1. 7 or 1. 6. 1, will it be included to OpenPli?

Thanks...

Actually all those images are using the work made here, in OpenPLi.

Also the 1.7 is development branch, not so good for production.

Anyway the master-next branch of OpenPLi oe-core is already using GStreamer 1.0,
so at some point master-next will become the new master, so it is already included in sources.

Which hardvare work downscaling,
This gstreamer can decode and downscaling downstream to 1080p solo2 duo2 sokose v2 or formuler f1 ?

I think new hardwares support it, because very stabil stream make all boxes, safe stream to m3u

Solo4k can downscale 4k channels.

solo2, duo2,... are too slow to decode h265 4k in software.

There are some friends who say with the new Gstreamer 1. 7 and solo2, they can downscale UHD to 1080p but, can not watch on solo2. However they can record this dowscaled UHD channel with solo2 and play on PC.

So, they believe with the next Gstreamer, they can downscale a UHD signal to 1080p with solo2 and watch it on a fullHD TV.

Do you think, this is possible?

Hi,

no current non 4K box has the speed/power to downscale UHD. Recording and playing on PC yes but downscale not. Even my Haswell core i3, which has around 10times the CPU power of solo2 is not able to do it.

ciao

Set-top-boxes are never designed to do anything in software. What codecs, modulations and resolutions are supported is determined purely by the hardware. If you want newer codecs, modulations or resolutions, you'll have to buy another receiver, simple as that. Just as you can't upgrade your car from 1.6L to 2.0L with a software upgrade.
