Hi Guys,

I'm looking into a way to auto install tux commander from an usb stick.

I explain my problem, this is on the box of a friend where the box is provided by a 3rd party completely locked.

Locked means that:

- no root telnet/ssh/ftp access

- host file to redirect all wget plugin links to 127.0.0.1

- no packet manager plugin installed.

In other words, he made well the job to avoid anyone to touch the configuration.

In this case, I would like to update the channels list without having to do it manually.

So my conclusion is that I need to find a way to install tuxcommander to reset root password....

how to proceed with this...

Any help is welcome

Thanks,

Ed

Smells like a box used in illegal sharing.

Stuff like this is image dependent, so is this an OpenPLi supported box, and does it run OpenPLi?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

That is going to be difficult, because the feeds for 3.0 no longer exists, so you can't get hold of any compatible packages.

Hi,

I don't thinks feeds can help much because they have been redirected to 127.0.0.1.
My best option is usb.
What do you think?

This is a et4x00 running stock OpenPli 3.0

et4000 !!

Stock OpenPli 3.0 ???

Then there is no problem

Use the software on this link, and flash to the latest image via USB

http://downloads.pli...0151203_usb.zip

You lose all the secret info on your existing box, but you have the most up to date software

But you are back in the game ;)

 Hardware: Master VU Uno 4K SE  1x Mut@nt HD51.4K & 2x ZgemmaH9T
Software : Pli (v7) (7.1rc) 2019

I didn't say your the should download from the feed, I said the feeds no longer exists. So there is nothing anymore to put on USB.
