Hi.

I have used my VU+ Zero with open pli since august 2015

It have worked flawless but not any more.

it started with that the image hang for a few secund and worked again and hanged. So i decided to do a reboot from the menu of openpli.

After the restart it wont boot any more, i get the Vu+ splash screen but nothing happens i just get stuck there.

I tired to flash it again with open pli but still the same problem splash screen comes up but nothing happens. The lan cars shows traffic then goes black after a few secunds.

I tired to flash with another image and the same there the splash scereen changes but no boot.

Does anybody have any ides about the problem or is the box dead?

As always in these situations..

Flash with original firmware (as per factory).. Check if the box wants to boot. If it does download the firmware of your choice and try again. If it does not boot from the original image you may have to send the box in for repairs..

Also note that this box has very limited memory.. If a HDD is connected through the USB disconnect it before flashing... It may try to restore a corrupted auto-backup..

They should... Box is less than a year old so warranty should apply in your case.. Most likely the flash NAND chip is (partly) defective...

Yeah.

All the warranty is ok, So they took it in for service but it would take up to 3 weeks to get it repierd. So i orderd a new vu+ zero

The strange thing is that he told me that OpenPLI made the chip broken he told me to use BlackHole insteed. that is a bit strange i think i like OpenPLI a lot and that´s the system im used to

use it on alot of boxes and nerver hade any problems with it.

Rubbish, software can not "break a chip".

The only thing that could "break" it, is flashing to much, as the chips can only be flashed for a limited number. But even if you flash several times per hour, it would still last more than 10 years...

Besides that, you flash any other image the same as an OpenPLi image, so I don't see why that would make a difference?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

That's a load of utter rubbish! The BSP layer for the VU+ Zero is supplied by VU itself! This says enough about the quality of service and knowledge of this firm! The first attempt to dodge ther warranty claim.... Don't be fooled by those guys....

That was my first thought also that the seller is trying to dodge the warranty.

I also says to me, We hade these kinde of issues before that OpenPLI works then stops working and later you can not Flash the ship.

he said becuse of OpenPLI many "bugs" the chip get bricked.

my opinion is also that is a horse load of bull.. I never heard this before and with all boxes i used with OpenPLI this is what i can say the best image for any kind of box.
