et10000 met realtek RTL8153 gbe driver enigma2

Ik heb dus een realtek RTL8153 usb naar lan gekocht maar deze werkt niet in de box moet ik nog drivers installeren zo ja eventueel hoe ?

Daar hebben we niet zo veel aan. Steek de stick er eens in als de box draait, en doe dan eens een dmesg?


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Dat snap ik, maar als hij er bij het opstarten al in zit, dan zie je de USB detectie niet. Vandaar de vraag om 'm er pas in te steken als de box al draait (of 'm er even uit halen, en dan weer in stoppen).

Of package usbutils installeren en daarna (!) lsusb doen.

 

Je hebt toch wel een USB3 Gigabit adapter gekocht he?

Je hebt voor deze stick de r8152 of de 8153 driver nodig. En die is niet beschikbaar (op mijn 10K).

 

Support for deze chipset is toegevoegd aan de linux kernel op 7/7/2015, en dat lijkt me een veel nieuwere kernel versie dan waar de box nu op draait.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Wat had ik nou gezegd, eerst usb-utils installeren. lsusb zie je niks aan op deze manier.

 

Anyway, er moet een asix chip op zitten. Tot voor kort, kennelijk, was asix de enige die een gbit usb 3.0 adapter in het assortiment had (zegt de kernel source zelf ook). Deze is leuk voor je PC, maar op een STB gaat-ie niet werken.

Niet alle drivers worden door de fabrikanten in de kernel gestop. Het is geen "windows" ;)

Je begint nu al te leren dat je met Linux niet moet weten wat het merk van de hardware is, maar wat voor chips er in zitten. En dat is inderdaad vaak een uitdaging. Dat is niet de schuld van Linux maar van de fabrikanten die vaak angstvallig geheim houden wat voor chips er in hun product zitten. Vaak blijkt dan ook dat het super-super-goedkoop spul is, dat mogen wij dan kennelijk niet weten ;)

 

Ik heb zelf een sitecom, dat kan ik wel zeggen, maar daar heb je niks aan, want het kan best zijn dat sitecom tegenwoordig adapters heeft (zelfs onder dezelfde naam!) met een andere chip!
