I am using latest openpli on my vu+ zero but when trying streaming a channel from webif with Firefox (or Chrome), it does not start streaming. I select to play the stream.m3u file with VLC or media player but the player just opens without the stream playing.

 

I remember it to have worked in the past, don't know why its broken now. While I can play files from my pc to the box without problems.

No, never heard about it.

Should have mentioned that I have another box - a Xtrend 5000 ET on lan, and it works perfectly there, no need to install VLC either, works just fine with media player directly from webif.

 

Why on VU+ zero it does not work? Both boxes run on openpli 4.0 updated.

Your box is simply not supposed to stream or record a channel.

You need pau.

As Robinson said you need to install pau extension. Otherwise recording and streaming don't work.
By the way: Pau is a non official binary. If you want official recording/streaming support you have to exchange the box.

No you need a receiver that is able to stream or record.

OK, now I installed pau extension and it worked instantly after.
