Will pli ever be able to use oscam like we used to be able to run on my Duo?

Welcome to the OpenPlay support board.
To be honest, I do not understand your question, as the default cam after a new flash is oscam. As we only give support on image related stuff and do not supply active support on oscam I'd like you to recommend stream board for oscam specific support.

Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. 
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

The oscam default program does not work with sly uk. I tried looking for a oscam ymod for the open pli version but I cant find one that works on my box. I have the oscam working on other types of boxes and on a openatv version on a duo but not on a open pli image.

For card specific issues you'd best ask your questions on the earlier mentioned board. The Sky UK card always has been a nasty one, so I have been told.

We have nothing to do with the "ymod" version of oscam. It's all very obscure. We only build from OPEN sources, so the "ymod" is definitely not in our feeds. You can try to download it yourself, it may work or it may not, I really don't know. Also I don't know if it will fix your Sky UK "issue" although I suspect it won't.

Why not try truly Open Source OSCam EMU? Beats Ymod, I think!
If nothing else, PB (OpenPLi/OpenViX based) has it all...
Shouldn't be a problem...

Only the legal status of that separate opensource emulator for oscam I'm not sure about.
For opensource oscam dvbapi usage you will always need a subscribed smartcard in order to let it run.
With oscam + emu patch you can watch channels without subscription out of the box. That is not legal.
Please lets not talk about smartcard algo, they give me headache.
For example CAK7 could be researched and added but since its a current securitylevel from Kudelski I guess they wont be too fond of it and take legal actions against oscam / person that commits it to public.
Oscam is too much misused for cardsharing purposes. For the normal hobbyist using it in house for the subscribed cards that is a pity.
No one shares anything in public any longer since cardsharing is / will misuse it

On a legal basis, the use of modified OSCam can be defended. What I can't (and won't) understand is the need to include extra encryption outside the smartcard. It should be in the interest of all users who are legally subscribed to a service to be able to use OSCam. With or without special configuration for a given type of smartcard.
In my opinion it is absolutely ridiculous the use CWOE on M7 for instance blocking out legitimate use.. Forcing them to: either use a special CI or use a M7 supplied (very crappy) box which offers nothing...

Sad case is that it's not up to what you or anyone else can't or won't understand. A monopolist creates it's own rules and it's government that should protect us against this from happening. But I don't think this issue is big enough for them to look into. Market forces should compensate this, but until now they don't.The why is mere speculation.
