Will OpenPLi 4 support stop after OpenPli 5 release?

No decision has been made about that yet, but we will probably stop the build at some point in time. It is very difficult and time consuming to maintain two different codebases.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

@janejak: create a copy of cross-answers-mips.txt as cross-answers-mipsel.txt (path in the log...)
MiLo has already submitted this for openembedded but not yet in master

WHY ?????

It's all shitty , pli mod's DO NOT LISTEN to remerkas and probs . The gst versions they use sucks for 100 % and ......

And after a remark like I just did some of idiot pli moderator will abuse his power to give a -1 one to my remark which I can't return to him .

It probably has something to do with this kind of language, and repeating yourself over and over again. Which is not appreciated. Certainly not in a non-related topic.

You're fun , and always speaking about language and .... bla bla bla ...

I made and opened this topic NOT TO COMPLAIN but did hoped (I do now understand its a  bad hope ???) to have a real nice stable new image , well I do now see that i'm self A idiot stupid naif person  and that the pli team does NOT WANT a good stable image

even the contrary and you're comment just proved that by 100 %.

You act like a small child being denied a piece of candy. Grow up please.

If you have something good to contribute, do that. But remember that we decide what the definition of "good" is, and not you. Time and time again you get feedback, but stubornly you refuse to see things any other than your way. If you don't like that, if you can't deal with that, if you can't live with that, sorry, but that is your problem. Stop complaining and be constructive. This behaviour doesn't lead to anything...

Well sorry very nice. I made this topic in a positive creative way that's all. I made a lot constructive remarks even a lot of tests (and there very very extensive ones). This to support the master-next. Actually to help MiLo to adjust the last versions, this with the goal of a future name ,, ?? but I guess pli5 . This all instead of sticking to the master (modified for gst-1.0).

That all do cost a tremendous extra time (apart from the fact that I'm bussy e2-gst  general media support problem).

Ok yes I stopped whit it for 9 weeks now , and this simply since a major extreme bug of e2 is still not admitted by the guys who call themselves experts. ?????

Well they had 9 weeks to test themselves and did not ....

If telling the trough and real facts is childish , yes then I'm childish sorry I'm not perfect , guess that's life not ? :P

You can add the libtalloc patch, I took it from OpenATV https://github.com/o...pport/libtalloc

After this I get a similar problem with libtevent_0.9.25.bb

I think the latest Openembedded upgrade was not a very good one...

Just use the ref before it then. No one is forcing you to use the head of the master-next branch.

@Chris: I use master-next with several boxes. What are the issues you have encountered?

tried but currently severe build issues master next.

Packages :

  /home/christophe/openpli50/openpli-oe-core/meta-openembedded/meta-networking/recipes-support/libtalloc/libtalloc_2.1.3.bb, do_configure
  /home/christophe/openpli50/openpli-oe-core/meta-openpli/recipes-multimedia/gstreamer/gstreamer1.0_git.bb, do_compile
  /home/christophe/openpli50/openpli-oe-core/meta-openembedded/meta-networking/recipes-support/libtdb/libtdb_1.3.7.bb, do_configure
  /home/christophe/openpli50/openpli-oe-core/meta-openpli/recipes-multimedia/rtmp/librtmp.bb, do_compile

are failing (note librtmp required for gstreamer). Looks like the is something wrong with the ld scripts with last openembedded. I do not now which was the last ok working.

Tried to solve using CFLAGS += "-I/blabla"  LDFLAGS += "-L/blabla"  but no luck  (for librtmp by example but the best i could get is till

The libtalloc issue is waiting to be fixed upstream, till then a quick fix is:

cd meta-openembedded/meta-oe/files/waf-cross-answers

cp cross-answers-mips.txt cross-answers-mipsel.txt

gst 1.6.3 of master-next compiles fine here.

p.s. note the gstreamer is ok (quit ok) up to 1.5.9.

after very severe regression on media but back ok since a couple off commits above 1.7.1.

GStreamer is compiling with gobject-introspection.( i building with openembedded-core, meta-openembedded en bitbake against git master head).

You can try

--disable-introspection

in gstreamer-plugins.inc and gstreamer.bb
