Does anybody know who the test images for VU+ Duo2 with Kodi 15.2 from mx3L work?
From this here:
http://forums.openpl...uo2#entry528681

Are the known bugs from the first post are bugs in this Version, too?

Thanks Elm...

That builds from master-next, which is our unstable development branch. Since we are not happy enough with it to release that as the next OpenPLi version just yet, you can make your own conclusions... ;)

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

I'm trying to build Openpli + Kodi for my vu solo se, but I'm running into a dependencie error regarding "librtmp".

I installed librtmp-dev on my ubuntu machine with apt-get install librtmp-dev, but sadly it's still reproducing the same error.

How can I solve this problem and build this image?

You will definitely use the current branch master-next.
In it librtmp is removed and is used rtmpdump from oe.
Therefore in xbmc-vusolose.bb dependencies librtmp must be replaced with rtmpdump.

Hello,

as @mamamia above noticed, vuplus created their own patch to support kodi 16. This patch brings some improvements, mainly there is no crash anymore on exit from Kodi and there is also reduced spamming in log by alsa which seams to bring little performance improvement.

I took this patch and apply changes on it which are mentioned in posts #1 #84
- internal audio playback is turned off, since it's not reliable, and it has to be done differently
- also fast switching between enigma2 and kodi is not enabled yet, there were changes in handling Builtins commands in Kodi, so has to look at it to make it work.

Changes which were not introduced in posts #1 #84:
- Navi-x plugin should work by default since we don't use enigma2's PYTHONPATH

Also meta-vuplus from openpli-oe-core is updated to latest version + added kodi recipes. Kodi recipe is adjusted to use releases directly from xbmc github on top of it is applied vuplus patch + patch(posts #1,#84), hopefully this makes process of updating Kodi easier.

Installation:

git clone https://github.com/OpenPLi/openpli-oe-core -b master-next
cd openpli-oe-core;make
cd meta-vuplus;git remote add vukodi https://github.com/mx3L/meta-vuplus.git;git fetch vukodi;git checkout kodi_16_1
cd ../meta-local/;git clone https://github.com/mx3L/recipes-kodi.git
cd ../build/;source env.source;MACHINE=yourmachine bitbake kodi-image

tested on vusolo2 by @bbbuk, by me on vusolose.

Note, if you are not going to do clean build, you have to rebuild kernel

Maybe I don't understand it, but what is the point of IPTV simple client, when we can't use normally builtin Kodi player, but only play all streams via enigma2 player.

It looks to me that IPTV Simple client just exposes m3u8 playlist, so you can list IPTV channels from it and play them. You can add these channels directly to bouquet in enigma2 and you've basically the same thing. Or am I missing something?

Will it happen some time? Kodi(xbmc) is around quite while and they have it still only in their bsp in http://code.vuplus.com/. It looks like they're not interested in adding it to openpli(meta-vuplus) or at least provide necessary dependencies to use it (dvbproxy, platformutil...)

Thanks for reply

There are plugins that create dynamic list and IPTV Simple Client works well with them. No need to make a bouquet

Hi mx3L,

First of all thanks for your instructions :)

It builds fine.

So what are the biggest differences between your meta-vuplus BSP and the default one that gets pulled in by openpli-oe-core?

Basically as commit states recipes are taken from openvuplus, we need to use dvb-proxy instead of dvb-modules, kernel has slightly different config, gles, platform-util and kodi recipe.
