Why do you ask here?

Where else should I ask? sat4all might be a better place but I left there many years ago for a good reason. There isn't much to find (good or bad) with google, maybe someone here knows more.

There is no OpenPLi for this box, so chances that you get enduser information about this box here are slim at best...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

openpli is not important, it just needs to work (for a woman) without mayor issues.

This is a bit like asking a Mercedes dealer about the quality of BMW engines.

Since there is no OpenPLi for this box, nobody here uses that box (this is the OpenPLi forum, remember?), so you better ask on a forum that does support this box...

@Wanwizard: "[EN] The Lounge, Anything not related to OpenPLi support or development.", whats the point of this sub-forum if I can't ask anything unrelated to openpli? @Gorski: tnx! I've ordered 2 boxes, once its running I'll write something about it here.

But not many competent users who would bother doing that... ;)

Given its specs, small size (so it can be fitted behind a tv), separate IR sensor, record to NAS (LAN and wifi), CI and cardreader, full HD, there are enigma2 images, recent original firmware and the price there isn't much left to be bad for a single tuner ;-) we'll see soon enough.

About my alien hd mini box. Had a small issue with different firmware between boxes but eventually got openatv-5.2-amikomini-20160220_usb flashed on it which is enigma2 based (so dreamset works letting me import my VU list easily). Its not a fast zapper but works quick enough. Haven't tried a card yet but that slots into the side of the box, they do mention it supports CI but I was expecting a CI slot (like the VU) which isn't there. Satellite scanning is just as fast as a VU. Setting DiSEqC is a pain with the original firmware but works fine with openatv. All kinds of enigma2 addons can be added just like a VU. It seems to be collecting EPG on its own via internet, I haven't set anything for it, it just appeared. One small thing is with scaling, it sometimes overscales, might be a HDMI issue (it does try to correct itself but fails). The default skin is crap, use the one which is set below the default. On the bottom there are sticky pads so you can stick it behind your tv (it comes with a remote IR sensor). The HDMI cable is short. HD quality is good.

"User Interface" (or words to that effect) in OpenATV, I think, if memory serves, for setting up the screen properly, from corner to corner, so to speak...

CI might not be needed, if OpenATV has CI+ emulator built-in (or via plugin? dunno, haven't tried)... OSCam Emu is da business!

EPG is collected from the net via plugins like CrossEPG or XMLTV Import but also OTA, not on all channels, though...

You have settings for it, which OTA EPG to activate etc. etc. Search  Settings...

Try Franc's skins, if they are there... :D If not, Glass HD...

Good luck!

Yes I've seen those screen settings for alignment but while settings this up I wasn't connected to the end users tv so I'll see when I get to install it. a CI slot to me means a slot where a CAM can be inserted, never mind its enigma2 with cccam/oscam which is gonna work for some years. I know how epg works :-) it was just the first image where this was active by default and working as its suppose to (actual data and no crashes). On to the next challenge arabsat, I have chosen 12130, 27500, V, 3/4 & 12015, 27500, V, 3/4 & 12034, 27500, H, 3/4 to hunt for when aligning the dish unless someone else can give me a better TP which is unique to arabsat (26e) just in case I find a similar sat with the same TP.

CI slot means the same thing to everybody. I am talking about something else.

"It seems to be collecting EPG on its own via internet, I haven't set anything for it, it just appeared." As I said, that needn't be the case. It could have been OTA.

Kingofsat website for TPs...

FTA channel "Bahrain TV" for instance is on 12226H 27500 3/4 and I don't think any other Bahrain TV is on the same TP frequency on another satellite (that would be weird...)... :D

FTA BBC Arabic on 11996 H 27500 3/4...

Good luck!

Hmm,

If Open PLi is not important then why did you choose openpli4me as your username ?

My suggestion to you : register this "notimportant4me"
