Hi All,
I bought the ZGemma-Star-S 2 weeks go as a replacement for our dead xp1000. So I'm just comming to understand it's weak points, however given its price tag, there not much to coplain about. But if they could be corrected would maker for a much better User experience.
The first and most noticable problem is with FTP. Whatever I try, I cannot get it to transfer faster than 50Mb/s (6MB/s). This is most noticable when sending a Recording to archive on my PC using Filelist-move/copy. It is taking over 5mins for a 1hr SD program 1GB approx. By comparison the same file takes around 2mins on my et8000. Both boxes and PC are on the same LAN/Hub (10/100).
Below are the ethtool & dmesg output relating to network adapter on the Star-S(sh1)

SH1-DMESG.PNG 12.58KB 2 downloads
Just for comparison the same for the et8000

ET8K-DMESG.PNG 8.56KB 2 downloads
The second thing I have noticed is the erratic time/write speed it takes do to a backup using, Pedro's "BackupSuite". This falls way short of the regular/average time it took on my previous XP1000 with a similar SoC and memory. Whether or not this is fixable or just you get what you pay for, I',m not sure? Just puting it out there.

Just for comparison I found this old Backup Log, again from "BackupSuite" thanks Pedro.

So Iif anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Cheeers Colin
