I was using enigma signal meter to  tune an LNB and discovered there is a discrepancy in BER reported in Satfinder and  the viewing channel.

While Satfinder would report a BER of 22000, ESM show only 35.

I also noticed that BER is not displayed in the viewing channel as with the Engima interface.

Are these 2 linked? And would it be possible that openpli can display BER like Enigma?

It would be very useful for people who are using their ALPS tuner and android phone to tune their LNB.

thanks

The exact value of BER shouldn't actually be relevant. If it's above 0 it's an issue and should be fixed.

under enigma interface, both the BER rates reported by satfinder and tuning to the individual channel are the same.

under openpli, BER is omitted from the display when tuning to the individual channel.

however using enigma signal meter for LNB adjustment under the individual channel, a false BER is reported which is much lower than the actual figure.

you would be under the false impression that the LNB skew is on the spot when there is still a lot of adjustment to be made
