Hello,

is it possible to enable the openssl support for the vsftpd server?

I wanted to use the sftp protocol for ftp file transfers.

sftp works on top of ssh, not ftp. sftp is a modern, secure and technically sound protocol. On the other hand there is ftp/s, maybe that's what you're referring to. It's a futile attempt on making an obsolete protocol safe. Don't use it.
