et9500 - blue led blinks 5 times and that's all...

Hi there,

yesterday, after about 3,5 years of flawless operation, my et9500 suddenly refused to cooperate

after power cycling the device, blue LED just blinks 5 times and that's all...

did some research in the forum, and replaced elecrolitic capacitor on PSU, mentioned couple of times here as possible culprit  (this yellow 4700u at the heat sink), unfortunately didn't help :-/

my colleague checked PSU using oscillator, everything seems to be ok,
nevertheless he sugested to eventually replace all capacitors on PSU just in case

I also checked battery on the security board - it's 3.3V...

so any hints? or only disposal remains to be done?

In some cases you should replace more then just the large capacitor near the cooling block. That's what I've heard before. And a specific part. I'll look for the Dutch topic.

Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.

Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. ;) :)
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.

Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

in the meantime after reading some Dutch topics, I already learned that lsp5503 might be possible cause,

and  in my case there's no voltage on its output actually...

 

unfortunatelly, I found this converter only available in China so far :rolleyes:

Hi,

 

I had a similar issue on my ET-9000, and a diode was the cause of it.

 

Between the red dot there is a diode that was broken. He just replace it and my ET-9000 was back to live.  The electronic shop could not find the reference of the component so he just replace it with a standard diode and this does the trick.

however in my case it's rather different cause, as I wrote all voltages out of PSU seem to be good and clean,

 

I have 5V on DC converter input on the main board, but no 1.2V on output...

So heat up the Box/LSP, e.g. with a hairdryer and box will boot again .-)

a bit of Hot-air against the problematic lsp, and, voilà, my favourite box is up and running again :)
