My satback EPG (27.5w) stopped working yesterday and not sure if its me but it looks like there have there been changes to the 27.5W satback channel entries:

Was:

1:0:16:4F20:1000:1:CFDACE7:0:0:0:

1:0:1:1044:1000:1:CFDACE7:0:0:0:

1:0:1:107D:1000:1:CFDACE7:0:0:0:

This namespace value (CFD0000) can sometimes be result of only having one sat configured on enigma2 box I think.

It is the result of this:

One word about scanning for channels:

Service refs like:

1_0_1_39_2_1_1862FA3_0_0_0

are scanned with a wrong setting.

Scan sat, cable or DVB-T with the option active (default value)

Ignore DVB-S namespace sub-netwerk : On/Yes

Ignore DVB-C namespace sub-netwerk : On/Yes

Ignore DVB-T namespace sub-netwerk : On/Yes

Scan 27.5W again with these settings.

And include the channels in a bouquet.

Thanks doglover, but I think right or wrong most people have the namespace value as it was previously in their lamedb I believe. This topic has been the subject of discussion a few times over the years in this ancient long running thread: https://forums.openp...dpost&p=1405526 . I guess we might all be wrong but I suspect this change will impact on many people as many people have copied the information in this thread and other similar ones on other boards.

I have worked round it with entries in /etc/epgimport/custom.channels.xml but I just thought I would flag the issue in case others are wondering what happened.

Many thanks

Rob

Rob,

I think I´m one of the ¨many people¨!

I lost my EPGs for the 27.5W sat a few days ago, simultaneously on several VU+ boxes, just after I had done some image and settings backups and setup a replacement box for one which had lost the hdmi output. I am not an "expert" by any stretch and have been making slow progress/struggling to ID whether; I had broken something or; it was coincidental and unrelated; and what I needed to do to recover the EPG functionality. My image doesn't appear to have the scan setting options Doglover describes.

I have looked at the thread you link to and note your ref to "workaround with entries in /etc/epgimport/custom.channels.xml " ........ Do you think I should/could I modify my lamedb with the new entries or can you give me a steer on what is involved with the workarond entries to the custom.channels.xml you have used.

Thanks in anticipation!

Mark

OK. It looks these channels are the exception which need to be scanned with the sub-space namespace.

I always understood that this sub-space Namespace was not needed, except in some cases. But I never knew what these case where. Now I understand these 27.5 W channels are one of them.

In my defence, a lot of people scan all their channels with sub-space namespace and end up with a bunch of strange looking service refs, which I have next problems with, because they do not match what is in the rytec channels file. In certain cases one channel had 4 entries. Each exactly the same, except the last 4 characters in the Namespace.

I was fed up with this. and decided I would only accept proper scanned service refs.

But it seems I hit one too much. These channels seem to be an exception.

On the other hand, it should not matter. EPGimport (at least in the latest version - which is already more than 1 year old) ignores the last 4 characters in the Namespace.

You should have EPG anyway. Unless you use an older version of EPGimport. (I cannot check which version is used in other images beside OpenPLi)

But I will change the Namespaces in the rytec channels file to suit this situation.

The new channels file will be on-line with the next update of the XMLTV files at 10h30 today.

Pls restart your receiver, if want to try it today.

Doglover,

Wow, thanks for your response.

Can`t say I understand all the technical bits at the moment but I`ll get there .... eventually ! I enjoy a challenge !!

I`ll be out for a day or two but will report back ! Maybe if Rob is around he can report success or not ..... he clearly has more technical nous than I !!!

Anyway thanks again,

Mark

PS. Can I use the donate button at the top of the page to support your work ?

Many thanks doglover and thanks for the insights. The early workarounds to get the satback channels working on enigma probably did not take a broad enough view of the implications of using this namespace with the subnetwork and the rest is history as they say.

Very much appreciate you work here.

Rob

Pleased to report all good now. I did a complete flush of epg.dat and re-imported to verify having removed my work-around entries from custom.channels.xml.

Many thanks again.

Hi, Seems that epg for DMAX+1.uk is incorrect since it should just replicate DiscoveryDMAX.uk with just an hour delay for each program.

One of the reasons could be that a wrong link is present.

These are mine:

And I changed the grab to another website.

Are you sure about the service refs:

    Regel 11702:
1:0:19:EEE:7E4:2:11A0000:0:0:0:

The data in the XMLTV file looks correct.

Be careful there is also a Sky Action channel.

And I found the error in the grab. It did not treat the date/time data correctly.
