@MastaG

Could not resist to check. Reconnected box and checked for Applications download. Feed is now fine. Installed necessary plugins (for me). Installed OScam and imported my own setting to allow for the box to use the Homesharing. Also installed RemoteStreamConvert to allow streaming of my DVB-C channels. The DM800-SE V2 has a build in DVB-S2 tuner.

Box is booting fine and all the functions I need are working fine..

Again a big thank you for your excellent work....

I don't know. I don't use these images, and I don't use  IPTV streaming. I pay for my TV channels... I'm just pointing to the statement of the author of the code, it has nothing to do with OpenPLi.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Hi MastaG

Thanks very much for all the hard work!

It's working fine in Dm7020Hdv2.

Just 1 small issue, the OSD size is still big which exceed my old 25inch Tv. Could you tell me how to reduce it please?

Thanks again!

You can't reduce it. Just enable full screen/overscan in your TV's menu. Alternatively install normal Pli-HD skin...

Hi Goldeneye

I am using an old 25 inch Tv with no special feature such as overscan and I am actually using the PLi-Hd skin. The Osd size exceed my Tv screen, I had try reducing it but only succeeded in reducing the right and bottom and unable to reduce the left and top of the screen.

In the previous post MastaG mentioned the Osd size will be reduce in the next release.

To reduce the osd size menu->settings->system->osd position setup (in master next overscan wizard)

When the option is not there your box does not support it...

And please note most tv's should support display without removing the overscan... The options is most times named differently (pixel by pixel, full screen etc.... )

But thr pli-hd skin does not right in overscan area.... Which indicates the setting on your tv seems to be completely wrong

I would like to thank everyone for their positive feedback, you're the best !
Also for the official PLi core members awnsering the questions asked is really great !

Thank you Beeker and samsamsam for the heads-up regarding iptv player and openssl.

Yes we all get the message regarding the unsupported openssl message on a clean flash but it's only displayed once.
For me most of the plugins within iptv player are still working though :-)

As for ffmpeg, while I am including it in my image, its been built as a minimal version for use with gstreamer1.0-libav.
Thanks to Taapat for the recipes !
It only provides the missing codecs for gstreamer.
So if your third-party plugin relies on a full-blown version of ffmpeg it probably won't work.
However keep in mind that this is a gstreamer image.
So ask the author/developer of your plugin to support playback using gstreamer :-)

As for the gstreamer recipes, I'll post them soon as I'm not at home right now.

You really not understand many problems related with GStreamer?

IPTVPlayer support gstreamer also but give users player based on ffmpeg which simple in many aspect is better.

Takes fewer resources, give possibility to play YouTube videos in Full HD and so on.

There is no problem to use both solution at one image.

But, castrated ffmpeg libs in your image can be simple overwritten by full versions.

So, I do not think that this is big problem for users. But, as I see you want to have all the latest components in you image but what about stability?

You probably agree that: never not always mean better?

Regards,

SSS

Hi Samsamsam,

Thanks for your feedback.
I wasn't aware of the fact that using ffmpeg is the better choice for iptv player.
I only do some limited testing with iptv player and for me gstreamer works ok.

Reason for adapting taapat's minimal recipes for ffmpeg (for use with gst-libav) is because it greatly reduces size.

Its a small thing to change the recipes and ship the full version again.
I'll do that for the next release :-)

Keep in mind that these images were intented for testing more recent versions of gstreamer for use with OpenPLi.

Problem is with this image (with image with never OpenSSL).

But not connected directly with exteplayer3 and ffmepeg.

If you read IPTVPlayer thread then you will find link to full ffmpeg libs for new OpenSSL.

Do you whant simpler solution?  Use different image.

Or do not use plugin.

For E2 images I do not see any advetyges using never OpenSSL.

So, it is not priority for me to add support for new OpenSSL.

Maybe @MastaG can answer what was not working with version OpenSSL 1.0.0, so he must update to version 1.0.2?

SSS

@sportfootbol
Just ignore the OpenSSL warning for now and use the gstreamer player.
If you want ffmpeg you have to install it manually or wait for my next build.
