Maybe someone can make an ipk (3rd party) plugin of it...-or- are there also sources available via github or so?

Hello,
My plugin does not works yet, it display only an interface but does not do anything, somebody should connect the plugin with libraries or at least with rtl_fm/aplay
However, provided "libraries" archive contain all required apps and drivers which allow command line interface to listen on all frequencies available on the RTL-SDR dongle.
best regards
Marc

Hi,
You should have a look at this plugin:
https://github.com/satdreamgr/SDGRadio
Done by Athoik it is already fully functional.

Thanks Pr2,
I have built @ATHOIK's SDGRadio and created an archive with all required ipk files to run the radio, didn't had time to test the radio, but i suppose should work.
I have uploaded the archive here http://ms.serdit.ro/sdgradio.tar.gz for those who wants to give a try. All ipk are built under OpenPLi 6.2 env.

Marc

You're welcome @Trial, actually @ATHOIK is the one which should be thanked he did the hard work.
If you have no experience with RTL-SDR devices you should try GQRX for your computer as well, it has a nice "waterfall" and it is easy to install and use http://gqrx.dk/download

Yeah, amazing devices, even ISS has a "free/unencrypted" channel, there are some weather satellites which send realtime data, all taxi and/or CB stations, you can try to decrypt TETRA stations , or cell phones communications.
There exists few devices which are able to transmit signals too as https://greatscottga.../yardstickone/
Good luck,

With standard dvb-t drivers this is not possible...

Hello Matrix10,
The RTL stands for RTL CHIPSET, which can be RTL2832U or R820T both built by Rafael Micro.
The SDR term stands for "Software Defined Radio" which mean that the demodulation is done by software instead of hardware.
The RTL chip which support SDR has a bug discovered by a hardware hacker which allow to capture the raw I/Q data signal from RF receiver before reach the hardware demodulator. Because of this the "unmodified" drivers does not work for SDR, only the special crafted ones can be used, and because it is a software demodulation will load the CPU in some circumstances.
Hope that this explain some of the RTL-SDR devices. I think there is a wiki somewhere with more detailed infos.
Best regards,
Marc

The feeds received via satellite in ETI format work even on old mips receivers (since only ETI demultiplexing occurs), because the OFDM is the CPU killer.
Would be nice to receive just ETI stream from onboard tuner, but that's not DVB, so just forget it.
