Nice Matrix10, how those low filters converters perform? Do you have antennas too for all of them? I only like to fool-around with hardware and software and I am not too good at radio-receiving/broadcasting :)

Performance is surprisingly good.
Of course the antenna plays a role.
But with a piece of wire from a couple of meters in length you can hear a lot on short waves.
I use Nooelec converter and Nooelec RTL-SDR with stable frequency, crystal.
Now it covers everything from 100 kHz to over 1.7 Ghz.
The best PC software for that is SDR Console

I have the Nooelec NESDR Nano 2+ the one with TCXO crystal, i think the same with yours, it get hot after 10 minutes, but it remains stable for hours.

Unfortunately "Console" seems to works only on Windows. I use GQRX on my mac.

If you want to listen to amateur radio on HF frequencies
below 30 Mhz
Console is the best software I have tested so far.
Receiving narrow SSBs and CWs (Morse) is incredibly good.
In addition tuning is very easy if you use software.

@mrvica

Did you test the Dab+ with this on the E2 ARM receiver
Do you need an extra plugin?

I don´t own it myself, E2 support will be coming soon (though this "soon" has been coming now for a year), you can read the whole article here

Changed the topic title to better reflect the discussion…

Can you correct it ?

It's not DBA+ , it's DAB+

I corrected the topic title   ;)

Solutions from Sundtek, for sure there are great. But they are not open source.

The tools used to receive DAB+ are free, and people improve them using their free time.

I think the available options are more or less:

1. you buy something from Sundek (or any other manufacturer), closed but with support that simply works (when it will be available?)
2 you use what is available (rtl chip, open source software)
3. you decide to get your hands dirty and make what is available better
4. you create a "kickstarter" project, where a special "tuner" is created, that is able to make all the process on chip (so it can be used from old devices), the code is integrated back to kernel, you make people happy and you earn little money (something like raspberry did)

I was for me fun going with option 3.

Hello,

I wonder who of you which own an RTL-SDR dongle and a STB box is willing to help me with remote control codes and kernel events, currently i am working on an android app which will send all RC keys and many other keys if available over IR.

In my case (Solo4K) kernel allow to send almost a full QWERTY keyboard over IR.

What i need? I need you to install lirc on your LINUX COMPUTERS and evtest on your stb box and tell me in a txt file

1. box model/version

2. run evtest on your stb box and get the output without pressing any keys but selecting the right event device, this is required to see what events/keys are enabled in kernel module

3. run mode2 --driver default --device /dev/lirc0 on your computer with RTL-SDR dongle installed and  press 1 to 0 and OK keys, if possible, if you have the output on the screen press 3 times enter between key presses to have a delimiter :)

Many thanks,

Marc
