Hi guys

 

I need your help. I want to change the password on my dreambox, I can get access to the dreambox via putty, but it would not let me to connect to the dreambox as it have close the putty app so I cant be able to change the password. It sound like to me the port is closed or blocked. I cant be able to reset it at home because my dreambox is in the UK and I am in the USA.

 

Do you know what app or what plugin I could use to allow me to change/reset the password?

 

And for other issue, I have a problem with the streaming as it would not let me to watch the live tv on my pc. I tried to tick on the check and uncheck button `zap before stream` but I still get the same problem. I don't think I have transcoding plugin on the dreambox to allow the stream to work. Can you help me with that please??

 

Do you know where I can find the plugin for the password change/reset and also do you know where i can find the transcoding plugin?

Hi,

use telnet to change password. SSH sometimes refuses to connect if no password is set but telnet as default should work then. After you set password SSH should work.

Thank you for your advice, how I can use the telnet with what program I should use? I tried to use on putty but it wont let me as it have close the putty app if I try to use it.

This box seems to run ViX, so perhaps you should ask on their forum what plugins they offer to (re)set the password?

Ok i will try and ask on their forum. I can be able to login the dreambox via telnet but the password is incorrect. Is it possible to reset it via the plugin as I am not at home at the moment?

 

And how i can get the streaming to work? you havent say how i could?

And to be a bit knit-picking... Don't call it a dreambox as it is a VU+.... Absolutely no shame on that....
