I am using an old Panasonic 25 inch Tv with no special feature such as overscan which I had search many times. I am also a little puzzle if a Tv has an overscan feature which the Osd is being displayed to exceed the Tv screen, then any Tv programs shown should also exceed too, right? But it didn’t, all Tv channels shown are being display correctly.

It is very annoying whenever I try to do some setting, I am not able to see the full screen, anything on the far left and top are all hidden. I need to guess what is written there.

O V E R S C A N & S E R V I C E M E N Ü

- Quelle einstellen (Tuner, HDMI usw.)
- Servicemenü aufrufen ("-"Taste am Gerät drücken und gleichzeitig 3x die Taste "0" auf der FB drücken),

Tried different resolutions, modes of connecting?

Hi Mrvica

I had translate your instruction to English which are as follows,

Set source (Tuner, HDMI, etc.) - Accessing the Service ("-" button on the unit and simultaneously 3x the "0" button on the FB press) - press "1" on the FB press, menu 1 appears, - with button switch through "3" of the FB until H-Amp or V-Amp appear - change with volume key of the FB value up to "-3" and "Enter" on the FB press (both H-Amp and V-Amp ), - "exit" in the FB exit the Service

Tried many times but fail, it will just go to channel 0 then to 1.

Entering the service menu is not always the same for all models of a manufacturer.

The sequence often changes over time, as new models are produced.

Try searching for the exact panasonic type & model you have.

An old 25 inch TV could certainly be ready for replacement.

Surely it has on HD resolution.

I'd buy an LG Oled TV.

Oled can produce such high contrast and deep black levels  (by turning off the led).

I'm waiting for this one to become cheaper: http://tweakers.net/.../specificaties/

Still need to convince the wife though :P

Off-topic:

The problem is that LG is not the only corporation that treats workers like crap. Lots of them do the same, only profit matters to them.

Many technological products that we use these days have a very nasty production background, the same for materials used. As consumers we should question more...

My place is too small for a 55” Tv, what would be the smallest size that I should get?

Tony, not all of them are the same, by any stretch of imagination...

But that requires an effort, for sure, and if it ain't up your street - some of us do care...

I believe Taapat commited support for bluray iso files using libudfread, haven't tested it myself though.

Anways due to personal issues, the next release will (again) not contain many (if any) of the user-requests (e.g. kodi plugins, more receivers etc..).

I guess the initial goal was to test out gstreamer 1.x before the release of PLi5 and I got a bit carried away shipping exteplayer3/ffmpeg/mediaplayer2/serviceapp etc.. (which adds in great value as well imo).

@MastaG my enigma is focused on libeplayer who support bluray using bluray protocol.
So without changing it does not work with bluray on gstreamer.

But in my observations on fulan is a problem with the playback of bluray in the player driver. It does not work without stuttering on mostly of bluray using ffmpeg or gstreamer.

I guess nothing much from my side.
Like I said personal things got in the way.

However there's many bugfixes all over the place from the community :-).

Taapat has been so friendly to start merging PLi with his fulan branch so sh4 users will be in sync again with all updates and bugfixes.
Thank you my friend, my spark7162 is still going strong.

The usual batch of gstreamer improvements.

No more upx binary compression on arm which should fix the vu solo 4k.

I've enabled some more meta-ini models such as xpeed lx (pro) and such.

A nice little ppanel helper for dm800/800se/500hd which will copy over the root-filesystem to usb or hdd and reboot from it.
Upon rebooting it will download the missing packages which do not fit into the 64mb space such as exteplayer3/gst1.0-libav and their dependencies (ffmpeg).

Some small changes I forgot about.

A very nice new bootlogo by marcino :-)

Like I said, nothing major due to time constraints.
Also this will probably the last release for a while.

Also I shared my sources and guides with fairbird so he'll start building PLi-based images as well :-)
I don't know his goals but they'll share mostly the same base, so look out for them and give 'm a try once he posts them.
