You can start by telling us what the error message was. "don't work" is not much to go on.

Hi,

I just received a Zgemma H.5 and I have inserted a microSD card into it and I could not find any menu in OpenPLi to format the device.

It seems that since Zgemma doesn't support internal HDD, OpenPLi simply strip down the HDD menu but this was the only one that allows us to format a device.

So I think that even if Zgemma doesn't support internal HDD this option should be left in the OpenPLi menu to allow us to format microSD card or external HDD that we can connect to it.

The one I receive was provided with OpenATV as default image and with it the HDD menu was still present.

The action start well untill 50% and after it stop...don't work

Hi,

I just test myself and it is the step that create the partition that remains stuck forever. (And this is the step performed at 50% of the whole process).

@Dimitrij

You are right once I restart the GUI I have access to the HDD menu.

Maybe it depends on the size of the card?

It is a 32GB SD card.

In fact the partition is properly created since I reboot the box connect with telnet , check with sfdisk and the partition was there, an issue a simple:

mkfs.ext4 /dev/mmcblk0p1

And the SD card format properly I test it and I can record and timeshift on it.

Here is the error:

And it is stuck there no more action, so yes it doesn't work on Zgemma.

That error shouldn't block anything, it's caught, it is trying to see if a model description for the device exists.

Is your image up to date? I see fixes from two days ago from Dimitrij regarding the mounting of mmc devices.

Today I did update the image, I again tried to initialize my micro sd Sandisk 32 GB Ultra, but despite being recognized it is not iniatilized.

The bar indicates 50/100 and does not go on.

If I initialize the micro sd with gparted it works fine,......picon, backup  all ok

I receive the Zgemma H5 tuesday so I install the image of 20160517 and today I also perform an online update, so yes the image on my H5 is the latest one.

If hotplug is the plugin to mount the partition it should not start there since the partition is not yet formated, just the partition is created and nothing else.

If the process stops, it either loops (which is not the case otherwise you would have a permanent spinner), or it has crashed in the background, in which case we need to find out why.

For that, we need owners with a Zgemma and Python knowledge. Mine is 600km from where I am, so I can't do much atm.
