So i got a green screen saying there is a problem with the STB after I tried to play a recording file, then tried to delete it.

Now I am stuck at the splash screen - is there a way to recover the image from here? Its currently installed on the Wetek on a SD card

Took to long to get everything working really don't want to start from scratch again, everything was working fine except playback of recordings which is when the error occurred.

If you have a green screen, you have an error message. If you can't get to it, mayby take a phone of it? And post it here so we can have a look.

Its gone now as I restarted the box. The error was caused by trying to Play and Delete a file that was currently recording, It gave the message that the external hard drive was full when it is actually empty. Ok right now I have access to the menu using the remote, but with the splash screen in the background - no channels. When I try go to update it says it cannot connect openpli website even though its connected to the net. Is there anything I can change from the menus to try resolve this?

Ok finally back up and running. I had to readd both my tuners, rescan and then manually enter my DNS for some reason was not being picked up.

One final problem, I cannot playback recorded files at all.. I just get a black screen. If i remove the HDD and connect it to my laptop I can view the files, so it seems to the player itself

I have been unable to fix this over the last couple of month now.

Can anyone help with this?

Just to add a bit more detail on above, I setup a network share and set up a recording, it recorded fine and can be played back on my laptop but still receive a black screen from the PVR playback screen.

Would really like to get this fixed have spent hours on troubleshooting already,

At first i thought my HDD and format of the drive might be causing the issue but this isnt the case as it happens on a network share too.

This seems to be a problem with movie player on the software

Can a dev check if playback of recorded files is broken on the Wetek please? I believe it is.

A couple of months ago the media player would play the files but could not fast forward, not its gone completely

What do you mean by "media player"? You normally would play your recordings directly from the file list, recordings are processed directly by the hardware. Afaik the media player uses gstreamer.

Yea thats what I mean, So when I click PVR, select my file that I have just recorded. The player 'bar' pops up at the top of the screen and then I get a black screen and nothing plays..

So basically I cannot playback ANY recorded files

Hmm... Then we'll have to wait until someone with a Wetek shows up, I don't have one.

best thiung is to get some logging. Loggin to your wetek and run 'init 2'. then start enigma2 manualy (and maybe set debug level to 4 first). Without logging there is nothing much to say...

My experience is very limited Engima2 I am not sure how to do this.

I logged into the box via telnet logged in as root. Typed init 2 and it crashed it box

what do you mean by 'crash'?

your tv screen will go black that is ok.

But do you get a prompt back?

If so type:  export  ENIGMA_DEBUG_LVL=4

and the type: enigma2

now your tv screen should show useful things again and your telnet session should scroll with lots of informational messages.

The try your recording again. After your 'crash' , capture the telnet log (assuming you have a big scrollbakc buffer to retrieve the data that is already off the screen...)

and post this log

Hi,

I think that it is init 3 (and not 2) so in telnet:

init 3
export  ENIGMA_DEBUG_LVL=4
enigma2

To stop it  CTRL-C and then to return to normal mode:  init 4

Pr2

Your wrong ;)
init 2 or init 4 stops e2. And that's what is needed here. After the test you can use init 3 to start e2 again.
