New receiver Zgemma. Teletext is in ts recordings on HDD and also subtitles are fine.

But no teletext view mode, only flashing of InfoBar or flashing of mute icon in video overlay, when selecting TXT.

Also no 'tuxtext.net 1.114' window appearing.

Is this a known issue? How can I do some tests to identify/solve the problem? Thanks.

Which Zgemma (there are three different images), which OpenPLi (date), and downloaded from our homepage?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I'm 600km away from my H2.H at the moment, so I can't test myself. Can another Zgemma owner check please?

It has to be a very recent Zgemma. Bought mine last week. Older models do work fine.

Weird, what does tuxtxt has to do with the age of the model?

Somehow in this newer batch something has changed, so that tuxtxt software seems confused, it even does not show 'tuxtext.net 1.114' on screen .... never.

If we can find out, perhaps we know the solution or at least what has changed.

As said, subtitles work perfectly.

Can I somehow read a cached file or something else, to understand in which pipe or phase something has changed or is configured wrongly?

Could it be at lower lever, a bootloader change, some memory management issue?

Thanks

You may try delete

/var/tuxbox/config/tuxtxt/tuxtxt2.conf

next time you start tuxtxt it will be created again

Did init 2, deleted /etc/tuxtxt/tuxtxt2.conf and init 3.

Please help, how can I get in tuxtxt?

Without the cfg file I have exactly same behaviour, the Infobar when switching channels or mute button flashes off/on when pressing TEXT, further nothing visible.

Thanks.

that seems to be another problem, tuxtxt needs frame buffer, try it without any OSD displayed, maybe the zgemma has problem with it

Without OSD I get really no visible reaction. Then it seems as if tuxtxt makes attempt to push away OSD, but does not succeed to enter his frame buffer.

You mean the OSD uses another display frame buffer or displaying method as tuxtxt?

Is there a way to check if the tuxtxt frame buffer actually works and where is the  addressing organized?

Otherwise it could be that Zgemma thinks there is some kind of OSD active, like subtitles that come and go by itself sometimes.

Just some idea's...

Tested. No problems with new Zgemma H.2H, batch 32001603.

So I guess you have another batch ? It can be verified with the serial number of your box. The first 8 digits indicate if you have a box with the samen hardware or not.

By the way, I have also an Edision OS mini. During all upgrades of firmware in time, the teletext freezed more and more. I discovered there was a bootloader update, which made teletext again work well. Is this my imagination or was there really an important change made with a correlation bootloader-teletext?

With Edision OS mini I also removed now tuxtxt2.conf. The teletext keeps working perfectly, but tuxtxt2.conf is not recreated in directory, this remains empty. How can I generate a new one again? But it seems as if it is not used (?)

@Daan: the serial number of a Zgemma is printed on a sticker on the box and also the carton itself has a serial number printed on a sticker.

Number starts with 32001603, then a lot of zeros and more, a long number. Cannot say if it is the same batch, bought it last week in the Netherlands.

And yours?
