To improve the quality of the plugins and to let the user see if there is any idea to try to use a plugin.

I have found a few plugins that has crashed. If someone already had seen this I would't bother try installing it.

I understand that this requires a list of plugins and a state of all the plugins and also it would need to be version dependent.

Maybe not a small job but I think it would be appreciated.

:)

Thanks for reply.

I don't think it's the best way but ok.

If I remember correctly BackupSuite crashes on install.

Growlee crashes on exit from the plugin. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I don't think so.

Most likely you're trying to install the BackupSuite onto a Dreambox and that won't work.
The BackupSuite supports all Openpli supported receivers except all Dreambox models and the Wetek play.

If you're installing the BackupSuite on another receiver than the above mentioned exceptions and it crashes please let me know what receiver it is and which symptoms are occurring.

It is not only about supported Models, more then half of the crashes people are reporting on my Plugins are coming from the usage of wrong and old skins or too older images. Despite that the idea might look good at the first glance, it will also just cause further confusion and irritiation for users and developers, so technically I would have to vote also against it, because it would produce a skewed picture.

Yes your right it's Dreambox

excuse my ignorance. I didn't know there could be hardware difference.

So is it possible to hide plugins that won't work for a specific brand?

That would reduce the stupid questions (like mine).

And the version is not that old, a week or so.

Normally the plugin shouldn't  be in the feed for the Dreambox, in the build process the Dreamboxes are excluded for building the BackupSuite. But that said I can't explain why the plugin is present in the Dreambox-feed(s)

This line of code should prevent adding the plugin to the Dreambox models

${@base_contains("MACHINE_FEATURES", "dreambox", "", "enigma2-plugin-extensions-backupsuite", d)} \

${@base_contains("MACHINE_FEATURES", "dreambox", "", "enigma2-plugin-extensions-backupsuite", d)} \

should I use that line of code?

if so how?

Telnet or should it be placed in a file somwhere?

No you can't do anything with this code, it's only to prevent the building of the BackupSuite for the Dreambox models. But apparently something slipped through the filter, what version is on the feed of the Dreambox models?

Maybe one of the Openpli dev's can say something about it, I can't figure out why it gets into the feed

This is what is in the feeds:

./armv7ahf-vfp-neon/enigma2-plugin-extensions-backupsuite-dev_20+git104+cf02116-r0.0_armv7ahf-vfp-neon.ipk

So it's included in all architecture feeds, which means it will pop up on all boxes. If that is not the intention, it has to be moved to the 'per-box' feeds by one of the dev's.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

It is intended for all Openpli supported boxes except the Dreambox (all models) and the Wetek play.

I thought the code in the recipe prevented building the backupsuite for the Dreambox models.

BTW: what is the cortexa9hf part?

Cortex-A9 is the processor and the hf means hard float.

In mipsel we also have mips32el-nf. The mips32 is the processor the el is for endian and nf is non float.

The best solution would be to add the source to OE (recipe)? Or is it already?

The recipe is used in the general e2 feed recipe: https://github.com/O...enigma2-feed.bb which is probably why it is in the general feed.
