@mastag

I use the version from the Pli feeds from ages ago when i was running the official Pli image. I have all of my plugins on a USB you see,so I load your image, then delete your extensions folder and create a symlink to my own(of course adding things such as service app and kodi laucher before I do. So Crossepg will not be the version that came with the image.

However, there maybe other files located elsewhere too ?

Ian.

Well doing that can cause problems...

Try to remove the symlink for CrossEPG and restart Enigma2 first.

If that doesn't work,  install my image plain without linking your old extensions and see if the problem persists.

Ok done that.

Flashed your image again without any symlink and single epg crashed the box.

So I removed Crossepg like you said, but it made no difference. Single epg still crashes the box.

Same crashlog as before.

Strange one this.

Ian.

only the latest works.

shy11, yes that's because I didn't program the logic to mount using uuid.

And since I cannot predict which device will be "sda" during boot, I disabled support for multiple storage devices.

However, it will simply reformat your hdd using ext3 and it will be labled "hdd" so you can still use it for recordings/timeshift etc afterwards :)

So if have you anything special on your internal hdd, you could backup it to your PC.

Then remove the usb flash disk and run the PPanel.

After it's done, reboot (so it boots from hdd) and restore your data back from your PC to your dm800 :)

Many Thanks for reply.

I have lot of movies 200GB plus on my internal HD. Very difficult yo backup and restore.

Can I do following,

-  disconnect my internal HD physically.

-  restart my DM800HD

-  run PPanle script to expand to USB

-  once done, reconnect my Internal HD

Yes that should work, but there's a chance your receiver will not boot once you put back your internal HDD.

But it's an easy fix..

Do exactly like this:

1. Disconnect your internal HDD and only connect your USB pen.

2. Boot your receiver and run the PPanel to move everything over to USB.

3. When done, reboot your receiver to verify that it can boot from USB.

4. If all OK, turn off your receiver and connect the internal HDD again.

Now if you find your receiver FAILS to boot after connecting the internal HDD do the following:

(only do this if your receiver doesn't boot with internal HDD connected)

5. Disconnect the internal HDD again but leave the USB pen connected.

6. Boot your receiver again and login with telnet, now issue the following two commands:

mount -o remount,rw /boot

and:

e2label /dev/sda1 usb

7. Now edit the following file: /boot/autoexec.bat

Change:

root=/dev/sda1

to:

root=/dev/sdb1

8. Power on off your receiver, connect and connect the internal HDD again.

It should now boot with both USB pen and HDD connected and the USB pen will be your root-filesystem :)

Hi MastaG

Great Many Thanks. it worked

I had to do all the steps you suggested.

Fact: once internal HD and USB was already recognized by image, even disconnecting the HDD was not allowing to extend the flash on USB, i had to re-install everything while HDD was disconnected.

PBNIGMA has a better system, that doesn't treat users as IQ challenged!

Automounting is OFF, Device Manager is the tool to do it the way a user needs it to be!

May I warmly recommend this system, as by far the best one available to us... ;) Hands down! :)

Yes shy11, thats correct since only then your USB drive will be sda.
I'm glad it worked.

I'll work out a better version which supports PARTUUID in the future so you can manually select the drive you'd like to use :-)

Enjoy

But this topic is not about PBNIGMA. If you want to do advertising pbnigma distribution then you should start your own topic. At least I think, so.

No, you do not think, you feel. 'Nuff said!

This is nothing to do with advertising PBNIGMA but trying to help this image by suggesting a better solution.

But since you have serious issues with thinking... never mind...

Stick with coding, you're useless at anything else...

Hi MastaG

Is there any option to make a consolidated backup of of complete image including extended part on USB in nfi  format?

I was using Flashbackup to do it, i am not sure if flash backup can do include USB contents also.

some time it is is very helpful to re-store completely if images crashes due to any unseen reason.

1 ABM although in plugins to download it doesnt download,so i suspect its only mips version

2 still have the problem with the key repeat, managed to change in the key setting like the dreambox, still a pain though does my head in,the thing is HDMU doesnt do this or spark,it not your image though the new batches of openatv and the likes have the same problem

3 ppanel, useless on the A2 theres nothing in it

but do like how you can swap eplayer for gstreamer

so not bad but for me its back to HDMU

Hi,

installed it on VU+ Solo 4K and the SSH / dropbear / UPX compression issue is solved now.

Thank you!

Btw, looks like Kodi is limited to 1280x720 resolution. With Full HD skin it took only part of the screen, but I don't care because I'm not using it.
