I flashed OpenPLI 4.0 to my Dreambox 800SE.
When I choose SATFINDER option ,from the menu, I can see
SNR:41%
AGC:48%
BER:0
transponder status LOCK but yet no programs found when searching.
Do you have any idea where a problem can be that a transponder is LOCKED yet no program found?
(The tuner works well in another receiver)

Hi,

Your SNR is too low to catch properly the signal. Improve your antenna adjustment.

Thanks for your reply. It is not a problem of antenna - another receiver works OK.

Here is an output of OpenPLI when I try to search programs

set sequence pos 3
set sequence pos 4
[SEC] setVoltage 1
[SEC] sleep 200ms
[SEC] invalidate current switch params
[SEC] sendDiseqc: e00000(DiSEqC reset)
[SEC] sleep 50ms
[SEC] sendDiseqc: e00003(DiSEqC peripherial power on)
[SEC] sleep 150ms
[SEC] sendDiseqc: e01038f5(?)
[SEC] sleep 50ms
set sequence pos 3
[SEC] setTone 1
[SEC] sleep 10ms
[SEC] update current switch params
[SEC] startTuneTimeout 5000
[SEC] setFrontend 1
setting frontend 0
(0)fe event: status 0, inversion off, m_tuning 1
[SEC] sleep 500ms
(0)fe event: status 1, inversion off, m_tuning 2
(0)fe event: status 1f, inversion off, m_tuning 3
OURSTATE: ok
[SEC] set dynamic current limiting
got pat
got sdt -1
channel done!
SCAN: the current channel's ID was not corrected - not adding channel.
no channels left to scan.
1 channels scanned, 0 were unavailable.

Maybe a developer of OpenPLI here can let me know what sdt -1 means.
I think a procedure returned -1 because something wrong. But under which conditions -1 is returned?

I know it sounds a bit disappointing, but Pr2's answer is correct. Most Dreamboxes will not lock below 50% signal. This means a dish re-alignment, more sensitive LNB's or another STB. Tuner sensitivity is simply not the same for every box. Has everything to do with components used. Some tuners are simply more sensitive than others and reception realy can depend on those extra 2 dB of signal.. That's the thing with digital reception! It either works or it doesn't, there is no 'grey' area in between (like with the old analogue sets)...

@goldeneye: Thank you for your feedback. But please note that the transponder is LOCKED ( at least OPENPLI says that -  see my  first post here ) even though  SNR is only 41%.

And if you check #3 post where  I posted the output of tuning , you can see also

...

....

OURSTATE: ok
[SEC] set dynamic current limiting
got pat
got sdt -1
...
..
Do you know under which conditions
sdt -1 is returned?

Does your installation include a multiswitch?

I have 3 LNBs and 1 DiSeqC, no multiswitch. I can use that installation successfully with another satellite receiver. Only this one does not work - see the log ( my first post) when  searching a  transponder.

Do you have any idea where can be a problem?

And do you happen to know under which conditions

sdt -1
is returned?( see the log in post #1)
Thank you

sdt - 1 simply means error. sdt 1 would be OK. You are simply operating on the edge of the signal. Lock simply means that it detected a strong enough signal on that frequency! It does NOT mean automatically that it can READ the transponders data!

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I understand  sdt - 1 ( i.e.ERROR) is a result of a certain condition( a query).Do you query tuner chip or what do you query that you receive that error result?

For the very last time, your signal is too weak, improve your antenna adjustement or replace your LNB with a more sensitive one... but the main problem is your antenna alignment.

Or simply dish size - they are cheap now, so buy a larger dish, m8... ;)
