When he meant this he needs a box that can change the video size... Not all boxes can do that...

You are right. And it is an mp4 file not a broadcast.

This only works on a few boxes.

option clipmodes only supported models(xtrend/formuler)

With 16:9 letterbox option in A/V settings it plays some of my files in 4:3 pillarbox.

long green should be disabled, nothing works anymore, it is not in hotkey, where it is? in a plugin or enigma2 core? it can be disabled if you associate something to long green with hotkey, better would be removing it in the source

Changing the video mode works fine, but on most channels it doesn't do anything, as there is nothing to "lettterbox" or "pan&scan". You need a real 4:3 broadcast for that.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

No idea, the E2 source is much of a black box to me. @littlesat ?
My guess would be InfobarGenerics, given the place where the button works. And it has a VideoMode() method.
