I have a problem with the CrossEPG Downloader. Everytime it starts a download, about half way through it crashes my receiver and it reboots. I have to try numerous times or wait for the next day to get a completed download. Can anyone help me with this issue?

Install XMLTVimport. And forget about Crossepg.

Thank you for your suggestion, does this work with the same guide that I currently use?

XMLTV importer is written for the import of the Rytec guides.

The OpenTV EPG from sky UK/Italy is not supported.  However the Rytec files also caontain EPG for these.

Hi,

I found the XML downloader under the crossEPG category and a manual download worked just great. How can I

schedule a daily automatic download?

You  have to decide what EPG sources you want. If you want xmltv (Rytek sources) install xmltv Importer, this basically uses internet to download EPG , do not use CrossEPG for that because sources (links from it get EPG for specific channels) will probably be outdated.

On the other hand you have CrossEPG that can download OpenTV EPG from UK/Italy directly from satellite, do not even need internet connection and EPG is much more accurate. The problem is that OpenPli never worked good with CrossEPG.

So, with OpenPli, you better off with XMLTV Importer.

Thank you for your help. I used the following steps to download:

1 Setup

2 CrossEPG

3 XMLTV providers

4 Devilcosta Nova English XMLTV

then I selected manual download

I updated through the internet and worked perfect.

Is there a way to get this download on a daily base?
I am only interested in the SKY UK channels that I am able to watch for free

XMLTVimport is a different program.  It has nothing to do with Crossepg.

Devilcosta Nova English XMLTV is a separate EPG provider.  Also nothing to do with Rytec.

If it works for you, fine.

But no support can be given here about this devilCosta source, or Crossepg.

If you are using OpenPLI it is in the feed.

Menu -  Applications - Download - Extensions

Near the end.

Install both XMLTVimport and XMLTVimport-rytec

Hi there,

I` ve just joined this site to get some info and maybe learn a lot more about my box.I have a Vu+duo with a fairly recent OpenPLi image, but I`m having difficulty in downloading the  epg, I looked on this site earlier and this post explained  how to correct this,I followed the instructions to the best of my ability(that does not say much), but all I`ve got is the fta  channel epg.

If there anyone who could point me in the right direction  I would be very grateful.

thanks jambo
