When does this happen? When you restart the box? When you open the timer list? Do you use the autotimer plugin?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

After reboot, immediately after reboot

No autotimerplugin installed.

Do you have the autobackup plugin installed?

If so, please make a backup of your settings before you reboot the box, and when the problem appears, get the timers.xml from your backup and post it here so we can have a look. The most likely candidate for this is an invalid XML file, probably due to some character that slipped in from the EPG data that is not allowed in the XML spec.

it happened every day, the last days.

and i reprogramed my timers via EPG......just until next morning.

I think my timers should be ok and "clean" ... some timers use VPS....maybe this is the problem.

If you run enigma in the foreground with the corrupt xml in place, enigma will probably log the place where it thinks the file is corrupt.

After today's update I can reproduce it.

The original timer.xml is renamed to timer.xml_old when it is detected to be corrupt. If I load it into an XML editor, it indeed reports a corrupt file. In my case, it is:

<timer begin="1474059000" end="1474064700" serviceref="1:0:1:1657:7E5:2:11A0000:0:0:0:" repeated="0" name="An Evening with Mark Knopfler" description="Concert from the Hurlingham Club in London, featuring an intimate live performance by the former lead singer of Dire Straits. The show features songs from his solo career and several Straits hits including Romeo and Juliet, Money for Nothing and Sultans of Swing
 (Subtitles)." afterevent="auto" eit="23588" location="/media/hdd/movie/Music/" justplay="0" always_zap="0" zap_wakeup="always" rename_repeat="1" conflict_detection="1" descramble="1" record_ecm="0">
</timer>

which seems to contain a CR or an LF, an ASCII control character that is not allowed in XML data without it being escaped.

edit: big question is, why is this a problem now, and wasn't a problem yesterday?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

There was also a ^U (ASCII NAK) in the file, so after removing the LF it still failed.

So the problem is in the EPG data, so it must be addressed there. In my case it comes from XMLTV, where does your broken entry come from?

I had the issue on Sky Arts, 28.2. (the XML entry above), which is EPG from XMLTV.

Here's a timer.xml that contains the problem:

Attached File  timers.xml   666bytes   9 downloads

edit: I've checked the website from which I think this data is grabbed, and there the text does not contain the ^U. So it is inserted either in grabbing the EPG data, or when importing it.
