I'd like to develop some plugin for my DM7000 with PLi Helenite. So I set up CDK on my Kubuntu 7.10 workstation.

I checked out and compiled Tuxbox source from CVS:
cvs -d anoncvs@cvs.tuxbox.org:/cvs/tuxbox -z3 co -P -rdreambox .
cd cdk
./prepare dm7000
make checkout
make dreamboximage_root
make rebuild-flash
make flash-compress

Compilation process was successful. Then I tested my working environment compiling RSS plugin from http://rss-dreambox.hijmans.nl/ (I know it is already on PLi, but I want to compile it myself :P ). So I put rss.cfg and rss.so in /var/tuxbox/plugins on my PLi. But RSS plugin doesn't run, raising some GLIBC version incompatibility issue.

I feel I'm missing something important. How to compile a plugin for a specific image, PLi or some else? Should I check out from CVS some specific version of Tuxbox? Or what else?

Thanks for your support and for wonderful PLi images :-)

We have a complete build tree here which "always" works so it's difficult to say what goes wrong here. Did you get an unresolved symbol? Or were the glibc versions different?
The best solution would be to build the plugin together with the image in the apps/tuxbox/plugins/enigma directory.
Many answers to your question can be found in our wiki: http://openpli.org/wiki

Hier staat overigens een handige tutorial, waarmee het iig mij lukte om de ontwikkelomgeving aan de praat te krijgen:
