Hi All

I am hoping that you can help, I have a number of US IPTV streams added to my OpenATV image and I am struggling to understand how I can add epg information to them, for the UK ones it is pretty simple to use echanneliser and assign the epg in there, however this doesn't work for the US ones.

I can get the epg data from http://zap2it.com/ and can generate a clean looking xml file from it using http://zap2xml.awardspace.info/ but I can't figure out how I can get that data imported into my epg.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Tommy

I do not use zap2xml myself.  Can you provide me with an example of the output from this grabber pls.  So I can judge of this output is usefull and can be imported with XMLTVimport.

(2 channels should be enough). It is important that I take look at the format of the file.

Secondly start reading the section about IPTV in http://forums.openpl...t-xmltv-import/

Also take a look at http://forums.openpl...ls-service-ref/

This will give you pointers.

Hi

I have attached a sample edited XML file below (full file was ~48MB), I have had a read of those threads yesterday afternoon and my main question is would I have to get the service ref set to the channel id="I16485.labs.zap2it.com" as per the xml attached below to be able to assign the details in likes of echanneliser?

Also what is the best way to update the service ref on multiple IPTV streams?

These XMLTV files can be used by XMLTVimport to provide the EPG.

However realize yourself that an enigma2 receiver only uses 4 tags.  The timing, title, subtitle and description.

Extra tags like category, episode and previously shown are not used.

Also a tag like:  <previously-shown />  could create problems.

Although this format is perfectly OK in xml.  The XMLTVimporter does not recognize it.

Therefore I pass the XMLTV file through grep  (in linux a standard installed utility - for windows it is in the GNUwin32 package)

grep -v -f "/home/EPG/GREPpattern.txt" "inputfile" > "outputfile"

I have attached my GREPpattern.

The you have to construct a .custom.channels.file.  (Custom can be any name you wish)  and copy this file in /etc/epgimport/

In this you define the link between the service ref you have given the channel on your Enigma2 receiver and the value channel id="I16485.labs.zap2it.com"

f.i. if you have defined a channel in the bouquetsfile:

#SERVICE 4097:0:1:1:0:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//urtmpkal-f.akamaihd.net/i/1ef9833b4_1@128347/index_1_av-p.m3u8:TVL (BE)

The definition in the channels file looks like this:

<channel id="TVL.be">1:0:1:1:0:32:0:0:0:0:http%3a//example.m3u8</channel> <!-- TVL ++IPTV++  -->

Notice the 4097 in the bouquetfile.  And the 1 the service ref in the channels file.

The part http%3a//example.m3u8 could be anything.  But is needed to denote that this is a IPTV channel.  You can have there the actual URL, but it is not needed.  A dummy (but syntax correct) URL is enough.

I have added a bunch of channels which I have assigned for the channels listed on the website.

As you can see,  each channel has to have a unique service ref.  It can be anything  (as long as it fits normal coding - max 4 digits Hexdecimal values)

The you have to make a IPTV sources file.

Place this file also in the /etc/epgimport/ folder

I have attached an example.

In this file you have to file in:

<url>Location and name of your XMLTV file</url>

This can be a local file or even an URL

f.i.

local file:

<url>/tmp/xmltv.xml</url>

or an file located on the internet

<url>http://epgalfasite.d...xmltv.xml</url>

Willy

PS:  I am sorry but is all manual editting work.  Which I know is a pain in the behind.

Wow, that is a great volume of information, certainly gives me something to play around with for the weekend.

Thanks a mill for your help, sample files and patience on this and your great service with this plugin.

It would be nice if American EPG could be integrated with the USTVnow bouquet from the samen plugin.

The above mentioned entries are in the rytec.channels.xml file  (the normally used file by EPGimport)

Make sure that the channels in your bouquet have the same service ref as above (use the 4097:0:1:  version) - only the 4097:0:1:7:1:1:0:0:0:0: part

Import the AFN source, and there will be EPG.

Willy

PS:  I just noticed, that you are using the plug-in provided in OpenPLi.  The service refs should already be correct.

Just import the AFN source.

Strange.

Can you post the bouquet file for USTV now pls.

Si I can check the service refs.

The AFN file contains data for these channels:

<programme start="20180918173000 +0000" stop="20180918180000 +0000" channel="WHP(CBS).us">

    <desc lang="en">Local news, weather and sports.</desc>
  </programme>

It is simply a matter of linking this data to the correct service ref.

So I need to check the service refs.

All channels have: 4097:0:19:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:

therefore the EPG isn't loaded. I do not know how channels must get a unique ID. My python knowledge is limited so I can not fix this in the ustvnow plugin.

I do not do USA channels.

The only exception are the AFN channels, and some channels which can be received in Europe legally via IPTV.

Up to now these included the channels broadcasted by USTVnow.  However since the plug-in does not assign the service refs anymore, or is not working in most cases.  I am thinking of removing even these channels.

The channels mentioned above, are received by an illegal IPTV subscription. At least that is my interpretation.  Contradict me if I am wrong.

I have asked Rick Hunter, to my knowledge the maker of the ustvnow plugin, to make the service details unique by adding a fake service and network ID. That will make these channels unique.
